About this experience

A girl was pulled from the Seine with a smile so peaceful they called her the Mona Lisa. Her ghost haunts the riverbanks, and you are the detective sent to solve her case. This murder mystery puzzle walk leads through 9 of Paris's darkest landmarks. Begin at the Arc du Carrousel and descend to the Seine where the body was found. Track the Red Man of the Tuileries, a ghost haunting Paris since Catherine de Medici ordered his murder. Decode clues at the Palais de Justice and Sainte-Chapelle. Stand before Notre Dame's 28 stone kings, walk Paris's most haunted street, and uncover the cannibal barber whose pies were served to a king. Each stop layers real history over a chilling storyline with audio narration. Based on the true story of L'Inconnue de la Seine, whose death mask became the CPR dummy Rescue Annie, making her the most kissed face of all time. Play anytime at your own pace using the Questo app. Best after dark. Not suitable for children.

Bad Puzzles and Too Much Walking

The idea behind this is really fun and creative, but it was just poorly executed. A lot of the clues did not make much sense and were very misleading. Even after having to reveal the answer to some of the questions because I couldn't figure it out, the answer still didn't make sense. It was also never clear what you are supposed to use to solve the puzzles and you have to wander the streets and randomly guess what they mean for you to use to decipher the questions. I also couldn't enjoy the story because I was pressed for time; I would say to truly attempt to enjoy the experience you need 2 hours, if only because of the sheer amount of walking. I had to all but jog in the rain to get from place to place, and the total amount of walking I did was over 3km, after a full day of walking the city (I think my feet were bleeding at this point). Just be warned that it is not kind to you physically. Just to add, I have done over 50 escape rooms and various puzzling experiences, so I am no stranger to riddles and puzzles. Once again, the idea was nice and the story could've been very interesting if the experience itself wasn't so frustrating for me. If I hadn't paid for this experience, I would've left 5 minutes in.

Response from the operator: Hey, sorry to read about your experience. However, we clearly mention on the product page that this involves 3 km of walking and about 2 hours. As for the puzzles, from experience we know that when people don't like to walk, and on top, it rains, the perception of our activity gets worse. If you want for us to explain the answers for the puzzles, feel free to reach out by email at care@questoapp.com Thank you!

Couldn’t get there

Very disappointed - the start location (Unnamed Toad) was a 5km walk from where we where and we did not have the additional time to do it. Would be good to know the location prior to purchasing as it was just a wasted transaction

Response from the operator: I understand how disappointing it can be when the start location isn’t what you expected, especially when time is limited during your travels. Thank you for sharing your thoughts; it’s important for us to know how we can improve. If there's anything else you'd like to discuss or if you need assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out at care@questoapp.com. We’d love the chance to make things right for you in the future!

Okay

Got us to explore some of the sights but the story seemed to just produce more questions than answers and did not feel like we solved anything by the end! Some parts were also affected by construction.

Response from the operator: Glad Questo got you to explore sights, but we apologize for any confusion caused by the story and the construction impact please send us an email with more details about this to care@questoapp.com so that we can investigate. Your feedback is appreciated for improvement. Feel free to reach out if you're open to trying another adventure. Happy exploring! 🏞️🕵️‍♂️📚

Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Paris.

How much does Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk cost?

+

Prices start at $7 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Paris usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk take?

+

Plan for about 1.2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Paris is not rushed.

Is Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 42 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Paris, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 14. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.2-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk?

+

Around 15 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Paris can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Paris and add a light layer if any part of the 1.2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ghosts of Paris: Mona Lisa Murder Mystery Puzzle Walk start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Paris within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Paris?

+

Paris rewards travelers who book ahead. The headline museums sell timed entry weeks out, the best food walks cap at eight people, and the Seine cruises that are worth doing are the ones that leave after sunset. Everything below is scored by the Outty Ranking so you can tell a genuine local favorite from a coach-tour filler in a single glance. On Outty we rank every Paris experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Louvre Museum Essential Guided Tour Semi Private 6 GUESTS MAX, Louvre Museum Premium Guided Tour 6 GUESTS MAX Entry Included, Paris City Center Free Walking Tour (Tip-Based). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Paris?

+

April to June and September to October, when queues thin out and terraces stay open late. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Paris?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
