    1. Gettysburg

Travel back to three horrific days in 1863 that transformed a small idyllic town into a mass graveyard. Our popular “History and Haunts Tour” is family friendly and includes tales of historic and ongoing spectral activity as well as the forgotten history of this “No Mans Land” between the battle lines where civilians quivered in basements while bullets whizzed through their homes for days. Nearly every building still standing on this tour still vibrates from the AFTERMATH.

    Great ghost walk! Highly recommend!

Terrific tour, thank you! We had Jackson as our guide and he was so great! Fun, informative, scary enough and so cool with being able to use the ghost hunting equipment. We will book again next time we come to town and highly recommend!

    Best family friendly ghost hunt

Terrific Jackson was super. He stated with the group longer and made the experience very interesting and exciting. He brought different types of ghost hunting equipment along which allowed everyone to use. This added to the experience. Definitely would do this ghost hunt again.

    More History Less Haunting.

If you are looking to learn about the history of war in Gettysburg and about the ghosts seen and observed by others, than this is your tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the review! We’re glad you enjoyed learning about Gettysburg’s Civil War history along with the ghost stories and experiences that have been reported here over the years. Thanks for joining us and for recommending the tour!

    The stories were good,...

The stories were good, but were finished after 35 minutes. Then this tour transitioned to a DIY ghost hunt in two parking lots, which we didn’t anticipate based on the tour description.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your feedback. We’re a little puzzled by this review, as the experience you describe doesn’t sound like our tour. Our tours are structured to include both guided storytelling and a hands-on paranormal investigation, and the investigation is led by the guide rather than being a DIY ghost hunt. We also don’t normally describe the locations simply as “two parking lots.” It is likely that you went on somebody else's tour and reviewed ours by mistake.

Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gettysburg.

How much does Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg cost?

    +

Prices start at $24 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gettysburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg take?

    +

Plan for about 1.3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gettysburg is not rushed.

Is Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 415 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gettysburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg?

    +

Around 145 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gettysburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gettysburg and add a light layer if any part of the 1.3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ghost Tour: History and Haunts - Family Friendly - Best in Gettysburg start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gettysburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Gettysburg?

    +

Gettysburg is a guide town: licensed battlefield guides in your own car, bus and horseback battlefield tours, ghost lantern walks and museum entries covering the three-day battle. On Outty we rank every Gettysburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 2-Hour Gettysburg Battlefield Guided History Bus Tour with a National Park Guide, Spirits of Jennie Wade Ghost Night Tour in Gettysburg, Echoes of War All Ages Ghost Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Gettysburg?

    +

April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Gettysburg?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
