We had so much fun...
We had so much fun touring Gettysburg with 8, 10 and 11 year old children. It really helped them to discover new areas and go outside their comfort level.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! We’re thrilled you had a fun time exploring Gettysburg with the kids! We love helping families discover new places and step outside their comfort zones.

Totally do this!!
I learned that day separated men and women at the train station. We got to see a whole fox pelt on a hat. TINY alleys! Great binding experience!!

Fun and creative
This was a fun experience and great alternative way to learn more history! My family had a great time doing creative activities and answering questions while wandering through Gettysburg. Also our virtual host Trisha was super interactive and motivated us through our hunt!

A surprisingly fun experience
We didn't know what exactly to expect when we decided to do this scavenger hunt. What we got was a lot of laughs, amazing photos and memories, and a chance to chat up a lot of locals. We got to dress up in period garb and put on a fashion show. Had amazing coffee at a local shop, and got to have fun making fools of ourselves. I will say you will have the best time if you just stop taking yourself so seriously. Be silly. Allow yourself to be a part of this experience. You can do as much or as little of the hunt as you want, and you can put your own spin on the challenges. 10/10 I would recommend it, and I will try this out in other places if it's offered.

Best scavenger/history hunt!
Really enjoyed walking around to each challenge and especially finding the mural that was “hiding in plain sight”. We’ve been on several tours in Gettysburg and had never seen this mural.

Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gettysburg.
How much does Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gettysburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gettysburg is not rushed.
Is Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gettysburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gettysburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gettysburg and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Groovy Gettysburg Scavenger Hunt start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gettysburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Gettysburg?
+
Gettysburg is a guide town: licensed battlefield guides in your own car, bus and horseback battlefield tours, ghost lantern walks and museum entries covering the three-day battle. On Outty we rank every Gettysburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Echoes of War All Ages Ghost Tour, Spirits of Jennie Wade Ghost Night Tour in Gettysburg, 2-Hour Gettysburg Battlefield Guided History Bus Tour with a National Park Guide. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Gettysburg?
+
April to June and September to October. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Gettysburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
