Wonderful and nice to do 😊
What a wonderful experience. We received a very warm welcome from a truly lovely family. I took the cooking class with my two daughters, ages 14 and 16, and they loved it. Our guide was very kind and funny, and she made sure that we not only enjoyed a delicious meal but also learned a lot about Vietnamese cuisine and had plenty of laughs. The visit to the local market before the cooking class was also really nice. I recommend this workshop to people of all ages—it’s a nice change of pace on vacation and a lot of fun, plus the food is delicious.

Authentic Market Visit and Cooking Class
We had the best day with Suan! We loved everything about today, it was just the right length. It was great to visit the market and live like a local. Suan was so friendly and happy to answer questions and told us a lot about local life and cooking. We cycled to the village, it was so nice to get away from the touristy Hoi An centre. The cooking class was so much fun and the food was delicious. I would recommend for solo travellers, couples and families, Suan and her family is so friendly and they can personalise the experience easily. They also offer farming, rice paper making and lantern making which looked fun. We booked through get your guide - “authentic cooking class in organic herb village”.

Great experience
We did the full experience tour today and we can only recommend it. Our guide Xuan was really knowledgeable about village life and our two girls and we spent a really great day. Also the food was amazing! Thank you very much!

A superb hands-on experience!
We had the most amazing experience with our guide, Ruby! She met us at our hotel and as we were a big group of 7 with oldies and young kids, we travelled by car to the local market. It was an eye opener for our 3 young boys. Ruby was super patient in explaining things and answering our questions, helping to look out for our kids as well. We then went to the farm and the took the older boys on her bike with her, what a treat for them! It was such a fun experience riding the buffalo, sitting in the bamboo boat with the most talented local farmer men, showing us how to weave 'rings and watches' from coconut leaves, chopping water coconuts fresh from the river for us to try. Back at the farm, the cooking experience was so interactive and hands-on, Ruby patiently let all 7 of us take our turn at making fresh rice paper rolls, then took us on an exciting cooking class and it was a ball flipping pancakes in the air! We ended the experience with a delicious meal, including the food that we cooked on our own. Will definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a different experience, suitable for both old and young, and very customisable to your needs. Thank you Ruby, for a wonderful morning spent with you experiencing local Hoi An culture!

An eco-friendly tour
Our experience at the Tra Que Water Wheel was really relaxing and allowed us to get in touch with the real Vietnamese life of local farmers surrounded by an uncontaminated environment. A special thank you goes to our tour guide, Ruby, for all the information she gave us and for her explanations about how to make rice paper and prepare delicious Spring rolls during the cooking class. We started the tour with a ride on a basket boat in the middle of a coconut forest and then we cycled in the countryside where you can spot water buffalos ( you can even ride one, if you like) while exploring the rice fields around you. Finally we had a farm -to- table lunch we ourselves cooked during the cooking class with the addition of other traditional Vietnamese dishes prepared by a local chef with the fresh ingredients grown on the farm. Why not conclude the day with a bike ride up to the white An Bang Beach and lie on a beach bed while sipping a refreshing drink or waiting for the breathtaking scenery at sunset? It's great fun! We highly recommend this experience to tourists visiting Hoi An. Angela from Italy March 2026

Why this scores 90
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hoi An.
How much does Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village cost?
+
Prices start at $26 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hoi An usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hoi An is not rushed.
Is Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 90 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 200 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hoi An, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village?
+
Around 70 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hoi An can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hoi An and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Experience Tour: Cooking Class & Basket Boat at Eco-Village start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hoi An within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hoi An?
+
On Outty we rank every Hoi An experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include HOI AN Hidden Gems in Rural Villages & River Islands PRIVATE TOUR, Coconut Jungle Eco & Hoi An City Tour With Boat Ride, Cooking Class Hoi An:Local Market, Basket Boat, Fishing & Cooking. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hoi An?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hoi An?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
