Fantastic moving informative day
Yes it was wonderful Driver was on time Driver friendly and helpful The lunch that was organised was lovely. The guide at Auschwitz was great and informative and respectful we could hear him well. At Birkenau it would have been helpful to have ear pieces to hear the guide but this is the only suggestion we would say A fantastic day and would highly recommend for all

Reliable, dependable, Trust worthy tour operator
A positive experience from pick up to drop off. Tour to Auschwitz was excellent w/guide from site. Our trip to the Salt Mine was long but informative w/guides from site. Lunch was provided for for additional fee, but was totally worth it as we didn’t have time to stop, & be looking for a restaurant to sit & eat. Communication w/Krakow Discovery was seamless. I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone.

Transport was brilliant,...
Transport was brilliant, on time, communication great, clean. Auschwich was moving, incredible, organised everything we thought it would be and more. The salt mines was not for us, lots of steps, walking and boring
Response from the operator: Thanks for your feedback! We’re really glad the transport was reliable, on time, and clean, and that Auschwitz was such a moving experience. As for the salt mines – we understand that the amount of steps and walking isn’t for everyone, and we’ll try to make this clearer for future bookings. Thanks again for your honest review and safe travels!

Very informative and fascinating trip
We booked this tour with a private chauffeur, and it turned out to be an outstanding experience from start to finish. Our driver, Marek, picked us up at our hotel right on time. He was friendly, spoke excellent English, and made the one‑hour drives to both Auschwitz and the Wieliczka Salt Mine genuinely enjoyable. Along the way he shared insights about the places we were visiting, Polish traditions, and things to see in the region. At Auschwitz, we joined a group of about 15 people with an excellent guide. The tour was deeply informative and conveyed the gravity of the site’s dark history with respect and clarity. Afterward, we continued to Birkenau, where the same guide led us through the grounds of the camp where the largest mass murder of the war took place. It was a powerful and important visit. The only small issue came when we arrived at the Salt Mine around lunchtime. We had only about 25 minutes to eat, which felt a bit rushed. Thankfully, Marek quickly pointed us to a place where we could grab food fast, but an extra half hour would have made it more relaxed. The Salt Mine tour itself was exceptional. We’ve visited caves before, but this was by far the most impressive underground experience we’ve ever had. Our guide, Margaret, was fantastic—knowledgeable, engaging, and full of stories about the mine’s historical significance. The vast underground halls and sculptures were truly breathtaking. After the tour, Marek drove us back to our hotel with plenty of time left in the afternoon to enjoy a stroll through Krakow. We highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Krakow. It’s a full day, but incredibly well worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your fantastic review! 😊 We’re very happy to hear that your Auschwitz-Birkenau & Wieliczka Salt Mine Tour from Krakow was a positive experience from pickup to drop-off. 🚐✨ We’re glad you enjoyed the professional guides, smooth organization, and easy communication with our team. We appreciate your kind words about the lunch option 🥪 — on a full-day tour, it’s a convenient way to save time and enjoy the experience without worrying about finding a restaurant. Thank you for choosing Krakow Discovery and for recommending us to other travelers! 🙏 We hope to see you again in Poland. 🇵🇱 #AuschwitzTour #WieliczkaSaltMine #KrakowTours #PolandTravel #KrakowDiscovery #DiscoverPoland

A 'must do' experience
The Auschwitz part of this day was a tour we felt was necessary to do. We chose to couple it with the Salt Mine visit as a way of striking a balance given we were on holiday. We had excellent communication from the tour organiser and driver the day before the trip. On the morning of the trip we were picked up puntually by our courteous driver, Bartek. Arriving at Auschwitz, Bartek told us exactly where to be and when and everything went smoothly. The guide within Auschwitz was informative and set the right tone. What can you say about it? Harrowing, emotional, sobering. At the end of that part of the day there is a very short break and you are then taken to Birkenau. We had taken the optional packed lunch arranged in advance by the driver (order the day before). I would highly recommend this not only for convenience but also because it was very good in terms of items- fresh sandwich, fresh fruit etc, and good value. You would not have had time to go anywhere else to get anything except perhaps a drink from the vending machine. At Birkenau you rejoin the same bigger group with guide to go round. After that it is a 1 hour 20min approx drive to the salt mines. Again on arrival, Bartek's instructions were clear and helpful. The Salt Mine is fantastic. Be aware that while there is thankfully, a lift at the end to bring you back to the surface, there are a significant amount of steps to go down and the tour is conducted at a reasonably brisk pace. It is truly magnificent and well worth seeing. There is a short break in the middle of the tour while down the Mine. On leaving the mines we were then taken back to our original pickup point in Krakow. Bartek was a super driver and got us to all the right places in perfect time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! 😊 We’re pleased to hear that your Auschwitz-Birkenau Tour from Krakow went smoothly from the first pickup to the final drop-off. 🚐 We’re happy that our organization, communication, and the visit with the museum guide helped make this important journey comfortable and meaningful. Thank you for trusting Krakow Discovery and for your recommendation. 🙏🇵🇱 #AuschwitzTour #AuschwitzBirkenau #KrakowExperience #PolandTravel #KrakowDiscovery

Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Krakow.
How much does Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Krakow usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Krakow is not rushed.
Is Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 81 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 158 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Krakow, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow?
+
Around 55 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Krakow can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Krakow and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-Day Tour of Auschwitz and Wieliczka Salt Mine from Krakow start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Krakow within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Krakow?
+
On Outty we rank every Krakow experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Complete Cracow Bike Tour (small group of maximum 15 people!), Krakow–Zakopane: Cable Car, Chocholow Baths, Cheese & Vodka, Krakow: Zakopane & Hot Springs Tour with Cable Car (Hotel Pickup). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Krakow?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Krakow?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
