Ouarzazate
Nicknamed The Gateway to the Desert, Or Hollywood of Africa, Ouarzazate is an important vacation destination in Morocco, as a base for excursions through the Draa Valley and into the desert. The fortified village (ksar) of Ait Benhaddou to the west of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built in 1928, Ouarzazate has grown from a stopover town to a destination in its own right. Ait ben haddou is one of the many kasbahs that were once stopped for caravan travellers under the authority of Bacha El glaoui. During this period, these kasbahs became famous places for having shot many historical films around the world as a gladiator; the game of the throne; the Mummy; Alexander the great, And others ...... You will be in this kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou for two hours, one to visit the kasbah and one hour for lunch. Tizi n'Tichka pass, located 7,415 feet above sea level, will be the next destination on your journey (2,260 meters). Stop to snap photos. Tizi n'Tichka is a Moroccan mountain pass that connects the southeast of Marrakesh to the city of Ouarzazat across the High Atlas highlands. It is located above the vast Marrakesh plains and serves as a gateway to the Sahara Desert.
