The main sights of the day, with longer stops to explore are Skogafoss waterfall, Solheimajokull Glacier, Reynisfjara black sand beach, near to the village of Vik and Dyrholaey headland and Seljalandsfoss waterfall. At the guides discretion, guides may also make a couple of unscheduled stops, depending upon whether the guide feels that there is extra time available and upon weather and road conditions.  Lunch is not included, but there will be stops during the tour at restaurants or gas stations where food can be purchased and restrooms available.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Seljalandsfoss waterfall

Then turn back west along the coastal road at the foot of Eyjafjallajokull volcano and make a stop at Seljalandsfoss waterfall.  This beautiful column of water tumbles off the cliffs and you have the possibility of walking around behind the falls and through the spray, so be sure to bring your waterproofs, as you might get wet.  This is saved this stop for last, as getting wet at the end of the day is much better than starting the day wet.

      Admission included

    2. Skogafoss

The first stop is the powerful Skogafoss waterfall with its 60 metre (200ft) drop and formidable spray. On sunny days, the waterfall often has a rainbow to add to the view

      Admission included

    3. Solheimajokull Glacier

Wonderful glacier and ocean view over the powerful Sólheimajökull glacier.

    4. Reynisfjara Beach

After exploring the edge of the ice,  we walk back to the bus and drive a little farther east to Reynisfjara black sand beach which is near to the village of Vik and Dyrholaey headland. Make a stop of around 1 hour at Reynisfjara which boasts a spectacular black sand beach, basalt columns and cliffs, sea stacks and in summer between May and August there are often puffins roosting and nesting on the grassy ledges along the cliffs.  The beach also has a nice café where you will also be able to get some lunch.

Long day due to need to...

Long day due to need to retrace return to Reykjavik. Bring/wear layers due to rapid weather changes especially watetproof shoes and jacket. Plenty of pit stops and food stops along the way . Tour guide David informative and mindful of time. Places are beautiful and worth seeing

    Fun tour

Beautiful tour, Martin our guide was very entertaining and provided a lot of interesting facts and took good care of us. All the stops on the tour were magnificent! Highly recommend it! There was plenty of time given to discover the sights. For Glacier and black beach we had heavy winds which made it a bit of a challenge, but a part from the nature giving us a bit of hard time it was an awesome tour.

Fantastic full day trip to Southern Iceland

WHAT a great day! It was a long one, but totally worth it — there’s lots of driving to get places but you get to see so much of Iceland’s landscapes along the south coast and it’s totally worth seeing. Al was our driver guide and he was fantastic; loads of interesting info about Iceland, its landscape & history — he’s a credit to EastWest! Loved every minute

Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik cost?

    +

Prices start at $135 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 85 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 342 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik?

    +

Around 120 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Full Day South Shore Small-Group Tour from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
