Definitely recomment a vehicle for just two! There's too much to see!
This is my third attempt to review so it will now be short! Highly recommend booking a tour for just two people in order to have the best opportunity to view the wildlife. This was our second time at Addo Elephant Nat'l Park and we saw several new animals the second time around. There is a huge difference between a National Park and a private game reserve. If you want to take your chances (but you will definitely see animals) go the Nat'l Park route, otherwise it's basically a zoo without bars. Our guide, Pardon, did a fabulous job of finding animals, including lions that were probably 1/4 - 1/3 of a mile away.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback. We hope to see you soon again God bless you and enjoy the best of what the world have to offer

Addo experience
Brian was an excellent guide, very well informed and helpful. Transport vehicle was unsatisfactory: pick-up arrangement failed and caused one hour delay and serious frustration, while vehicle itself (standard bus-taxi) was uncomfortable, and not ideal for game viewing. Braai lunch dreadful: unsatisfactory hygiene, overcooked meat, and all four in party suffered consequences of varying severity.
Response from the operator: We as Addo travel center try our best to keep a high standard when it come to our vehicles, our trip and meals ect. We apologies for any inconvenience caused, due to game drive durations, difficult roads to navigate and maximizing sightings', getting guests for lunch on time becomes difficult which explains the lateness of the guide who was meant to fetch you. When it comes to vehicles it depends on number of our guests. If you are more than 4 we use minibuses as advertised. We apologies if the food was not satisfactory, as you stated it was overcooked. it saddens us to hear this, we usually don't get complains. If we knew you weren't satisfied, we would have made a dietary plan for your needs. if we had been informed of any inconvenience we would have done our ultimate best to help the experience be more comfortable. Our sincere apologies, hopefully this won't stop you using our services in future. if you would like you could email in time for your next trip so that we maximize your priorities and needs. Have an amazing and blessed day forward.

Terrible experience
The driver never showed ruining my trip. I will never use this service again. Viator Support was difficult to find out the website. And once I did find they were very little help. I ended up having to pay more money for on the media trip. That was only a half-day not a full day. Viator was responsible for ruining my vacation.
Response from the operator: Apologies for your experience having been ruined. The booking in question was cancelled from our booking system 24 hours before the ship docked. I was so furious as I had also organised everything for your arrival . I queried the cancellation with viator asking them how can I loose 2 bookings in succession less than 24 hours before arrival of the guests . The consultant who attended to my query her name was Gladys. She told me that the 2 booking's I lost was a's a result of medical emergency and the other guests had found a cheaper option . I had a lengthy discussion with Gladys and expressed anger with the cancellations The 28 was suppose to be a busy day for me but there was cancellation's. I lost a lot of money as result of the cancellation. When viator guests cancells bookings they don't even inform us as to why unless if as tour operator take pains to ask the agency on chat. You can get last minute cancellation and no reason sighted. It is very unfair on us as tour operators. We were prepared to host you and looking forward to host you till Gladys from viator via Chats told us and confirmed the cancellation's .

Four hours in a car without air condition
The guide was good. The Safari Park interesting but they sent us a car without air-conditioning. It was a lousy car, and we have been forced to stay more than four hours without air conditioner. I would like to have at least 50% of my money back.
Response from the operator: Dear sir Apologies for the fact that the aircon was not working well. The day in question temperatures in the park unusually rose up to almost 38 degrees. The aircon was overpowered and unknowingly also the gas was running out. It is very difficult to tell when aircon gas is running out. Disregardless of that all 4 windows did open and you were given an exclusive private safari whereby it was just the 2 of you instead of 4 people. Victor or yourself did not also not warn us that you are disabled and putting extra 2 guests would have convinced you or the other guests. You already did enjoy the exclusivity and all the services offered. To request 50 percent discount is misguided and it is very rude to call our vehicle lousy as that vehicle do conduct game drives everyday in the park. You are the only guest to have ever complained. I do not know what you mean by the woRd lousy. Yes aircon gas was low or may have run out but that is not anticipated. With temperatures skyroof even the most brand new vehicle with aircon was overpowered by the unexpected high temperature on the day in the park. Also for your own information 90 percent of vehicles conducting game drives in the park does not even use aircon at all since you have to keep windows open for sightings. All 4 windows of the vehicle in question do open and do not see justification of a discount. Vehicle did not breakdown. Guide was good and sightings good.

Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Port Elizabeth.
How much does Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari cost?
+
Prices start at $2990 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Port Elizabeth usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Port Elizabeth is not rushed.
Is Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.1/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Port Elizabeth, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Port Elizabeth can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Port Elizabeth and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full day Private Addo Elephant Safari start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Port Elizabeth within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Port Elizabeth?
+
On Outty we rank every Port Elizabeth experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whale, Dolphin & Penguin Island Cruise, Addo Elephant Full Day Safari with a Traditional South African Braai (BBQ) Lunch, Addo Elephant National Park All Inclusive Full-Day Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Port Elizabeth?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Port Elizabeth?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
