Insightful and comfortable day with Laura
Laura’s English is terrific. We were 3 families traveling together and we found Laura through Little Red Book. I visited Xi’an and the terracotta museum about 8 years ago. On that trip we hired one of the numerous English speaking tour guides advertising themselves at the museum entrance. The person’s English was unfortunately so difficult to understand that we didn’t learn anything. This time, I wanted to ensure a different experience and I’m very happy I found Laura. We were also traveling with 3 small children under 5 years old and Laura was very considerate and did the tour according to our required pace and helped us hire strollers at the entrance and find elevators. She also took breaks and sought shade and recommended snacks and drinks. It was a really comfortable and insightful day. To end the tour, we did a DIY activity and made our own terracotta warriors at a workshop. This was the best and so much fun and the souvenir was even better than buying one ourselves. By the way, Laura also helped us find a van and driver and coordinated all of the details. Alternatively we could have taken 3 taxis but in the end, the van was a good deal and it was nice to be able to keep our things in the van.

Best guide in the whole of China!
Best guide in China! Laura brings this ancient city to life. So glad we booked this tour and learned so much about the city's history and beginnings. We loved Laura's tour so much that we booked her again for a museum tour. Fantastic!

The most impassioned tour guider
This is probably the best tour guide we’ve ever booked! Our group of four came from different backgrounds—Australia, Korea, the UK, and Hong Kong—and Laura impressed all of us with her energy and passion. We hired her for the Goant Wild Goose Pagoda, Shaanxi History Museum and the City Wall total more than 10 hours (we extended it as too much want to know and see). The historical insights and stories she shared were mostly things you won’t find in the museum—about 97% of it, to be precise. She made the entire museum experience incredibly enriching, helping foreigners truly understand over 4,000 years of Chinese history (yes, not just 2,000) in just four hours. The visit was so amazing that we completely forgot about lunch. Afterward, we went on a bike tour along the City Wall and chose to learn about Xi’an’s modern history through the ride. Even for those of us with some basic knowledge of Chinese history, Laura shared insights you won’t find in any textbook. By the end of the trip, our foreign friends had developed a strong interest in Chinese culture. FYI, she can tailor made the trip for you how you want to see Xi’an.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Xian.
How much does Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Xian usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Xian is not rushed.
Is Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Xian, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Xian can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Xian and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full-companied Small Group:Ancient City Wall+ Cycling start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Xian within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Xian?
+
On Outty we rank every Xian experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Xi'an Day Tour: Terracotta Army&Optional City Attractions, All-Inclusive Terracotta Army Tour with Premium Buffet Lunch, 2-Day Customized Warriors Tours & Xian Top Attractions. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Xian?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Xian?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
