A guide can make or break your tour

Tour guide Camilla was a non engaging guide who catered to Spanish people. She would not accommodate slower walk for elderly in the extreme heat.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to hear that your experience did not fully meet your expectations, particularly regarding the pace of the tour and your interaction with the guide. Our goal is always to make every guest feel included and comfortable, regardless of age or physical ability. We regret that you felt the walking pace was too fast, especially considering the high temperatures, and we will certainly share your comments with Camilla so they can be carefully reviewed. We would also like to mention that this tour has become far more popular than we originally anticipated. The exceptional demand has led to larger groups than expected on many departures, making it more challenging to balance the needs and pace of every individual guest. Nevertheless, this is not the level of experience we aim to provide, and we are continuously working to improve our operations to ensure every traveler enjoys the tour.

Fabulous way to spend the day!

I love tours that give you plenty of free time and this one did. The bus was air conditioned.... bliss! Francesca was a fantastic guide. She was very patient and explained a lot of things, pointed out all the places to go and have a lot of information about the places we visited without overloading us with facts and figures. A great tour!

Not bad, very long, hot day.

This was a very long day with a long bus ride to Verona from the train station in Mestre, Venice. The AC on the bus is not very good and it was hot. It was a very hot day and there was no reprieve from the heat when getting on the bus. The tour (which I didn’t realize) was in two languages English and Spanish (kudos to the tour guide) but that means everything was said twice and with all the talking and thick accent it made it hard to catch all the information. There wasn’t enough information on how the day would go and we ended up wasting time eating lunch in Sirmione instead of going and seeing the town. We only had 1 hr after the boat ride. So we didn’t get to experience the town at all. Wish there was less time in Verona and more in Sirmione. After we were told that we should have eaten in Verona, wish we knew that before hand. So the itinerary could be better explained. The tour guide was very friendly, but with so many people on the tour and being a bilingual tour, it didn’t feel as organized as it could have been. I would probably not do this tour again and instead just take the train or bus to Verona or Sirmione to have more control of your itinerary and time where you want it more.

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We are sorry to hear that some aspects of the tour did not fully meet your expectations. We appreciate your kind words about our tour guide, who always does their best to assist guests in both languages. As you noted, managing a bilingual tour with a large number of participants can sometimes require additional time for explanations, and we understand that this may affect the overall pace of the day. We are also sorry that the timing in Sirmione did not align with your personal preferences. Our itinerary is designed to balance the visit between Verona and Sirmione, but we understand that some guests would prefer more free time in one destination over the other. Your comments regarding lunch recommendations and a clearer explanation of the day's schedule are particularly valuable, and we will take them into consideration to help improve the information provided before and during the tour. Regarding the transportation, we regret that the high temperatures made the journey less comfortable than expected. Unfortunately, during peak summer days, the heat can be challenging even with air conditioning systems operating normally. Thank you again for your feedback. It helps us identify areas where we can improve while continuing to welcome the many guests who choose to travel with us each day. We hope you still enjoyed some memorable moments in Verona, Sirmione, and on Lake Garda, and we wish you a wonderful continuation of your travels.

    Horrible guide

Horrible guide Dali. Disrespectful. She tried to leave some members of my family in Verona because they were 5 minutes late! A real shame because the tour was good. A good guide or bad guide can ruin the total experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. First and foremost, please accept our sincere apologies for the experience you had. We are very sorry to hear that you felt disrespected and that your family was placed in such an uncomfortable situation. We completely understand how upsetting it must have been to feel that some members of your group could have been left behind, even after being only a few minutes late. We are particularly sorry because, as you mentioned, you otherwise enjoyed the tour itself. We fully agree that the attitude and professionalism of a guide can make a tremendous difference to the overall experience. While guides are required to follow strict schedules, especially on tours with many participants and multiple stops, we believe this should always be balanced with courtesy, understanding, and clear communication. During periods of exceptionally high demand, our guides often manage very large groups and complex logistics, and although this is never an excuse, there can occasionally be moments of stress or misjudgment. Please be assured that your comments will be taken seriously and shared internally so that we can continue improving the experience we provide to all our guests. Thank you again for bringing this matter to our attention. We truly regret the frustration caused and hope that, despite this incident, you were still able to enjoy the beautiful destinations visited during the day.

From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Venice.

How much does From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Venice usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Venice is not rushed.

Is From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 46 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.3/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Venice, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Venice can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Venice and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Venice: Verona Tour and Lake Garda Cruise start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Venice within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Venice?

    +

On Outty we rank every Venice experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pasta and Tiramisu Cooking Class with Wine in Venice, Eating Venice Small Group Food & Drinks Tour, Venice Bacaro Food Tour: Eat and Drink like a Venetian. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Venice?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Venice?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
