Pay attention to all Passengers Equally

The pick up was 10 minutes late. We were very well versed on the way. But at the location, I found that we were not prepared for the arduous trek that awaited us. The guide glided ahead of the party, and at no time paid attention to stragglers. After reaching the pinicle of the tour she was no where to be found. My friend and I were lost and had to rely on sigh language with the residents. If not for asking a gentleman if we could pay him (which he refused) to drive us to the coach park, anything could have happened to us without her Knowledge. We were dropped off at the side of a main road very unsafely. I believe that passengers should be vetted, or warned for health concerns or age and ALL passengers should receive FULL tour guide attention

    Amazing and refreshing cave experience

It was an amazing experience, my guide Riges was really experienced, generous and fun, we got to see the cave and bath in the river next to the canyon! The hike was quite easy (It was my second or third hike, so I'm a beginner tbh), and we had no problems at all! Just as a reminder, the water is freezing cold 🥶

    Don't miss it

I needed this adventure for my sole. I would have never done it and felt the joy of discovering without my gentle and smart guide. He used to play in these mountains when he was a child! A gentle reminder: Just wear your hiking shoes :)

    Beautiful walking tour

The walk was very nice and beautiful. Our guide adapted well to our pace and we had a lot of fun with him. He also had a lot to say about Albania and almost always had answers to our questions. After walking for an hour we arrived at the cave. We walked in there for a while and it was special to see. The guide guided us well through the cave and helped us where necessary. After getting back to the car, we drove to the river. We didn't swim because it had rained. That was a shame, because it also made the tour shorter. It was really beautiful and fun.

    Great hiking experience

Valter was an amazing guide! The hike is a bit arduous - not for beginners but fantastic. Swimming in the canyon was a highlight, along with eating at a local restaurant afterward and chatting with some of the local villagers. Highly recommend this experience. Thank you!!

Response from the operator: We are absolutely delighted and filled with joy to learn that your experience was great. Thank you for taking the time to generously share your experience.

From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.

How much does From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle cost?

    +

Prices start at $105 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle take?

    +

Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.

Is From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 9 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Tirana: Hiking to Pellumbas Cave and Petrela Castle start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tirana?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tirana?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tirana?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
