    Best private tour experience

Our driver Yuni arrived early at the port entrance. In spite of the construction and traffic he made his way around expeditiously to get us in our way. The drive took less time than expected. Yuni shared lots of information on the culture, religion, way of life and historical data on the way. Arriving at Borobudor Monument everything went smoothly. Yuni dropped us off and ushered us right to the entrance. He knew his way around. My husband got a wheelchair, so convenient since he couldn't walk long distances. Yuni was there guiding us through the park. He wasn't able to guide us in the Monument, very strick rules but waited for us at the exit. The ride back to port took just a bit more. We got back to the ship safely with plently of time. Yuni even stopped to help us buy an avocado for that evening's dinner. A delightful guide. I highly recommend him.

    Great visit to Boroburdur Temple!

We opted to do this tour instead of the one offered by our cruise line so that we could drive directly there and leave when we wanted to. We left an hour later the cruise ship group and were back 1.5 hours before them. Worth every penny. Our driver, Thoriq, was great. He was on time, escorted us through ticketing up until we joined the Boroburdur tour and then was waiting for us when we were done. Afterwards he accommodated our request to stop for cold water. Highly recommed this trip and Thoriq!

Fantastic Borobudur is not to be missed!

Borobudur is a UNESCO world heritage site that must be seen. The largest Buddhist temple in the world is simply stunning. We travelled to the site with EKO - a superb driver guide with excellent English, good humour and good conversation. It is more than 2 hours drive to the temple from Semarang port - you will spend a large part of your day in the car so don’t underestimate the value of a driver guide who is both knowledgeable and good company! It is a hot climb to the top of the temple but you are rewarded by great story telling from the official guides on site and wonderful views when you reach Nirvana at the top. This has been the standout highlight of our visit to Indonesia - highly recommended.

    Borobudur Temple

We had an awesome trip to Borobudur Temple. We arrived before the Holland America buses and were able to visit the temple with a guide of 5 which was amazing.

From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Semarang.

How much does From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion cost?

    +

Prices start at $147 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Semarang usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion take?

    +

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Semarang is not rushed.

Is From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Semarang, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Semarang can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Semarang and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Semarang Port: Borobudur Temple Private Shore Excursion start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Semarang within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Semarang?

    +

On Outty we rank every Semarang experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jakarta Half-Day Sightseeing Tour To Modern City and Old Town, Jakarta Bogor Botanical Garden, Waterfall and Rice terrace, Lunch, Jakarta Heritage of Old Batavia Private City Tour (Historical). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Semarang?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Semarang?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
