Batik private tour with amazing tour guide (Siti) and instructor (Nathalia)
I booked a private tour for 2 (mother-in-law (MIL) and I) because of our love for the art of batik-making. Our knowledgeable tour guide (Siti) picked us up in the lobby of our hotel with a private driver (Khalim) in a very nice, comfortable van that was clean and had A/C running cool all day. We took a batik-design course with instructor, Nathalia, from Rumah Batik Ciracas. Nathalia was very knowledgeable and very patient. We were taught the step-by-step process of creating batik designs, application of wax, painting, boiling, drying, down to the finished product. I highly recommend Nathalia the instructor if you’re looking for an authentic batik workshop. Our tour guide (Siti) was very knowledgeable about the history of Indonesia and a great story teller. She also had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us laughing all day. My MIL has severe osteoarthritis and this private all-day tour is perfect if are traveling with someone who requires special accommodations due to limited mobility. Our tour guide (Siti) was so kind and caring. She would check in on my MIL frequently, making sure she was comfortable with the level of walking given her severe osteoarthritis. Siti even gave my MIL some tiger balm/oil to apply on her joints when she learned that my MIL had joint pains. Thank you, Siti (tour guide) and Khalim (driver), and Nathalia (batik instructor) for a wonderful day exploring the beauty of batik-making in Jakarta.

Special day in Jakarta
Spend one day in Jakarta from a cruise. Met by my tour guide, Marysa, and our driver. Very professional and courteous. The AC van was clean and well maintained. Because the textile museum was closed on Monday, I had a private session with Natalie in her lovely workshop. I was able to create a design, apply the wax and apply colors to a white shirt I brought. It turned out great and I plan to continue to practice when I get home! The national park with architectural residences from all over Indonesia was beautiful and informative. Lunch was included and we had a little time for shopping. Despite the famous Jakarta traffic, we made it back to the ship with plenty of time, a beautiful shirt and great memories!

Making your own Butik is...
Making your own Butik is pretty fun. Taman Mini Indonesia Indah is huge, you should take the cable car (tickets not included, but its a must, and its only 60,000 IDR around 3.6 USD). Our tour guide is friendly and knowledgeable, she took us to a great lunch places too. We have lots of time to walk/see/hanging around.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Jakarta.
How much does Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Jakarta usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Jakarta is not rushed.
Is Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Jakarta, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Jakarta can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Jakarta and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Full Day Private Batiks Class and Explore Miniature Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Jakarta within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Jakarta?
+
On Outty we rank every Jakarta experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jakarta Half-Day Guided Tour with a Private Fun Local Host, Jakarta Half-Day Sightseeing Tour To Modern City and Old Town, Active Volcano, Rice Field, Hot Spring, Fruit market, Tea Plantation with Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Jakarta?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Jakarta?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
