Mlincici
The little windowless huts sit on top of skinny stilts right over the gushing water. Since the flow here is spread out, by using a series of little mills instead of one big water wheel, the diffuse water power could be aggregated. Pretty ingenious. Most of the huts go back to the period of the Austro-Hungarian empire (about 1867 to 1918), and they give the impression of a little storybook village.

Catacomb of Jajce
Built around 1400 AD for the aristocratic Hrvatnić family, this two-level crypt is small and roughly hewn but artfully half-lit and notable for the boldly sculpted cross, sun and crescent moon motifs (downstairs), a rare surviving memorial to the independent Bosnian Church.

Fun, interesting tour to lovely places
Fantastic day out with 7 others in a minibus and our guide, Krys. Very comfy travel to Travnic to see the Fort for 30 mins, then on to Jajce to see the waterfall, water Mills and an hour at the lake. Onto some catacombs and an old church before heading back to Travnic to see the brightly painted mosque. Good time in each place, knowledgeable and fun guide - really enjoyed it!

Almir is the best!
Almir was a great guide. He shared his experience from the war and educated us on all the history of Bosnia. We learned plenty from spending the day with him. He had a cheerful spirit and we highly recommend taking this tour.

Efficient use of time
We had Yasmin as a tour guide and he was super dope, very patient with our questions and knowledgeable about the places and history, himself being extensively travelled throughout the Balkans. Harris was our driver and got us to all our locations on time. I felt the time at all sites was adequate. The only potential shortage of time might be for someone who wants to swim in the lake, but I'd suggest taking an intentional day trip for that. They give a sandwich at the beginning of the trip and there are plenty of places to eat at throughout the trip, but they will cut into the tourist spots so you might be better off bringing some heavier snacks to keep with you while walking. Each museum/site does have its own fees ranging bw 5-10 marks so be aware, I did every single site (2 fortresses, catacombs, 3 museums and the waterfalls) and it was like like around 40 marks or something total. Would highly recommend.

Great fun , friendly driver , 100% recommendation
As two 18 year olds we were intimidated about the trip and how the hotel pick up works, but it was very fun and our driver Senad was very knowledgeable and a pleasure to be around always happy to help , our favorites were the waterfalls and the lake the nature there is unreal.

From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Sarajevo.
How much does From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Sarajevo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Sarajevo is not rushed.
Is From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 87 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 268 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Sarajevo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour?
+
Around 94 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Sarajevo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Sarajevo and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does From Sarajevo: Travnik, Jajce, Pliva Lakes & Watermills Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Sarajevo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Sarajevo?
+
On Outty we rank every Sarajevo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Fall of Yugoslavia, Sarajevo War Tour with Tunnel of Hope Museum and Frontlines, ROSES OF SARAJEVO (Official War + City tour) -Story of a Survivor, Sarajevo: Mostar, Blagaj, Pocitelj, Waterfall, Konjic with fees. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Sarajevo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Sarajevo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
