    Solid experience

I enjoyed this tour for the most part! The tour itself was great, and I’m happy I was able to see the trees and Yosemite. The timing of everything was good. I just wish I had gotten matched with a different guide, as I did not appreciate the attitude. Though - importantly, I did feel safe and he got the job done.

    Good Yosemite Tour with Joshua

I took the tour to Yosemite and Giant Sequoia Small Group Day Tour led by Joshua. He is twenty-five years old and was hired two months earlier for six months. Overall, I was happy with him as a tour guide. We got enough information during his talking. There were issues with not hearing him well enough and he said it was hard to know when we would arrive at specific points. He seemed intelligent and had a nice personality. I had a nice day. There were fourteen people in the group. We met at 6:30am in San Francisco at the Hilton Hotel and did not return to 9pm. So, it was a very long day. Initially there were issues we were waiting for someone who was a no show. And on the return trip, I did get a little car sick due to the winding road. There should be more tour guides like Joshua. I did not take Viator Tours because a year earlier on a trip to Monterey I had a bad older man tour guide named Thomas with Viator Tours and I was trying to avoid having him again as a tour guide. I want to say I have taken several Viator Tours at different locations with good tour guides.

    Great tour

Ben was a great tour guide. He knows the whereabouts and is on time. The transportation wasn’t crowded and we had enough time for bathroom breaks and lunches. If anyone choosing going to Giant sequoia, please be prepared for 3 miles hike.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review! We're so glad you had a great experience with Ben and that his knowledge and organization helped make your trip enjoyable. We appreciate you sharing the helpful tip about the Giant Sequoia hike—being prepared makes all the difference when exploring Yosemite. Thanks for traveling with us!

    Amazing, would recommend!

The tour was very good. Our tour guide was Sara/Sarah. It came in a sketchy van, but it was very comfortable and had "Incredible Adventures" on the side. The pick-up location was convenient. Everything was included in the price. Sarah was awesome at explaining what everything is and the history as we drove. It took about 2-3 hours to get to Sequoia and another 1-2 hours to the Yosemite main area. Sarah was great with the timing and allowed a good amount of time at each location, allowing us to explore and get to other locations. Very informative! You can tell Sarah loves the job. Informative, engaging, and very friendly to questions. Everything about this tour and trip is 11/10, but I personally think the Sequoia was a bit underwhelming and could be skipped to allow more time at the Yosemite National Park. Total time was from 6:35 AM to 10 PM (pick up to drop off) - Sarah made an extra stop at Fisherman's Wharf for passengers who were near there (wasn't part of the agenda, so it was nice of her!). As Sarah said, do make a plan to go in the spring (February-March) as the waterfalls are SEASONAL (wasn't aware of this), so the falls would be big, beautiful, and nice. Ours was thin and kind of underwhelming and "boring"?

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful review! We're thrilled to hear you had such a great experience with Sarah and that her knowledge, enthusiasm, and care helped make your day memorable. We'll be sure to share your kind words with her—she'll be happy to know you enjoyed the stories, timing, and overall experience. We also really appreciate your honest feedback about the itinerary and your thoughts on the balance between Sequoia and Yosemite. Comments like yours are valuable as we continue improving our tours and helping guests make the most of their time in the park. Thank you for traveling with us and for sharing such helpful tips for future travelers!

From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.

How much does From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group cost?

    +

Prices start at $209 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group take?

    +

Plan for about 14 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.

Is From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 75 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 14-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group?

    +

Around 26 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 14-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From San Francisco: Yosemite & Giant Sequoias in Small Group start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Francisco?

    +

San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Francisco?

    +

September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Francisco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
