    Amazing experience! Highly recommended

Alex was very kind to accommodate me last minute. Even tho the forecast was for cloudy skies, with his experience and a bit of luck I had the most amazing experience with the northern lights. Such a dream come true. Alex is also a good chef for the sausages and pies. He’s a fun guy!

    Fairytale tour

Great tour, Alex was very attentive with us and managed to create a fairytale evening, the Northern Lights we saw in both locations.

Cozy barbecue with a spectacle light show

I was so lucky to experience the strongest aurora compared to the previous days. The aurora colors seen by the naked eye are never as intense as the result in the long exposure pictures... that can be disappointing if one expects vibrant colors in the sky like I did haha. But nonetheless, this is a great natural spectate. The tour was well organized, simple but cozy, with a great barbecue, tea and marshmallows. Great hospitality from Alex and his colleague. Thank you

    Terrible

Horrible tour guide. Alex didn’t say one word during the tour. He didn’t talk about the northern lights at all and didn’t even point them out when they appeared. I’ve loved all my tours in Finland so far, but this one was terrible and I don’t recommend it at all!

Response from the operator: Dear Guest, We are sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. We always strive to make our tours enjoyable and comfortable for all our guests. Alex is an experienced guide, and his tour style usually receives positive feedback. There may have been some misunderstanding. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon that can vary in intensity and visibility. In such cases, our guides prefer to let guests enjoy the moment without unnecessary interruptions, but they are always available to answer any questions. We appreciate your feedback and will take it into account in our work. Thank you for sharing your opinion! Best regards, The UncleAlexTravel Team

The emotions and experiences are worth every euro

We dreamed to see Aurora so badly. The sky was cloudy on 28/01/2025. So we had no much chances. The driver picked up us from where we stayed. So we were very happy. Especially when he dropped us home after the trip. We were brought to one location. But we stayed there max 15 min because we did not find it. Then we went to the second location. The driver made the fire. I was expected the fire in the wooden tent. But I was told it's better at the open fire. We had sausages (I would suggest to coock more than one per person due to long standing). Also he cooked some rice bread (delicious). My son enjoyed marshmallow, hot juices. I accidentally looked at the sky to different direction where we were told to watch and I saw 2 stars. I said maybe there are no cloads there. And I tried to take a photo. And you will not believe. AURORA appeared. I can't describe the happiness and the feeling. So so happy🥰🥰🥰

From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.

How much does From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks cost?

    +

Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.

Is From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Rovaniemi: Northern Lights Tour with Campfire Snacks start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
