    About this experience

During our journey, we'll visit Kerid Lake, set inside a 3,000 year old caldera, where expansive views and striking blue water make for incredible photo opportunities. Next up, we'll visit Fridheimar Greenhouse, where you'll see the latest in the country's horticultural engineering and enjoy some unique treats, grown right on the property. After that, we'll visit Geysir, where the land has been shaped for thousands of years by the oldest recorded geyser in the world, and a number of smaller geysers blast off every few minutes.More water awaits us at Gullfoss, a gorgeous waterfall on the Hvita river, where 140 cubic meters of water roar over the falls every second. To cap it off, we'll stop by beautiful and historic Thingvellir, site of the Icelandic parliament from 930 - 1798 AD. Here, you'll see the continental drift, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.

    Perfect Golden Circle Tour

Our family had a fantastic private Golden Circle Tour with Konrad Tours. Iceland was amazing but this was the best day of our holiday. Konrad was really knowledgeable, we never felt rushed, on time pickup, everything was great. Perfect day - thank you! PS see you in June!

Fantastic Tours with a Native Appeal - See the Sights and Learn about Iceland's History

In our recent August 2023 family vacation to Iceland, we had the most incredible Private Tour with Konrad Tours and our guide Bogi Agnarsson. Bogi was born and raised in Iceland, and having him for a guide was very special as he shared so much about Iceland history and culture that we might not have otherwise experienced. Bogi was prompt, polite, knowledgeable and friendly. He allowed us to tailor our Golden Circle Private Tour to be at the pace we wanted each stop to be and to meet our interests. We never felt rushed and he truly wanted us to have an outstanding time. You could tell he really loves his native Iceland. He even made a few extra stops along the way for us to see extra sites and experience extra local traditions such as Hot Springs bread. When we return to Iceland some day, we would definitely seek out Konrad Tours and request Bogi as our guide. We missed Bogi when we went home as he was so kind. For anyone debating between a group tour or a private tour, our family got the most out of our time in Iceland with a private tour, and would highly recommend this experience.

Response from the operator: Dear Robert, Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with Konrad Tours and our guide, Bogi Agnarsson. We are thrilled to hear that your family's Private Tour of the Golden Circle was such a success. Having a native Icelander like Bogi as your guide can indeed make a world of difference, and it's great to know he provided valuable insights into our rich history and culture. We're particularly pleased to learn that the flexible pacing and personalized aspects of the tour allowed your family to fully engage with each location and experience Icelandic traditions like Hot Springs bread. It's also heartening to hear that you felt a genuine connection with Bogi and that his passion for Iceland enhanced your journey. Your feedback regarding the advantages of a private tour over a group tour is immensely appreciated and will surely help other travelers make informed decisions. We look forward to welcoming you back to Iceland and are more than happy to arrange another memorable tour with Bogi. Warm regards, Konrad Tours Team

    Knows plants and birds!

Best part for us of our wonderful tour was that David was knowledgeable about the natural history of Iceland - the plants and birds that we saw along the way. And he accommodated that particular interest of ours admirably!...

Response from the operator: Dear Katharine, Thank you for taking the time to leave us such an excellent review. We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed your Tesla Ecotour with David. His passion for Iceland's natural history is infectious, and we're glad his knowledge of local flora and fauna contributed to your unique experience. Feedback like yours encourages us to strive for excellence and continually offer a truly immersive experience. We hope to have the pleasure of accompanying you on another adventure soon! Extraordinary five star experience

Literally no words are able to describe this tour (or call it a experience, because it was). It started with the booking process and the adjustments, Sebastian who helped me through email, had so much patience and took a lot effort to make the tour exactly to your wishes. David, the tour guide, was extraordinary in doing his job. During the tour he felt like he was a friend of yours. He was able to tell so many great stories about Iceland, the culture, the history, nature, innovations and also about his own experiences. The sustainable vehicle (the Tesla) made everything complete if you have sustainability high on your values and don't like the big busses and massa tourism. Everything was perfect and it was extremely worth it. Big big big thumps up for Konrad Tours!

Response from the operator: Dear Jasmyn, Thank you for your glowing review of our Tesla Ecotour - Exclusive Golden Circle Private Day Tour, in May 2022. We are overjoyed to hear that your experience with us was nothing short of extraordinary, from the initial booking process to the tour itself. Your kind words about Sebastian's patience and dedication in customizing the tour to your preferences are highly appreciated. We always aim to provide a seamless and accommodating booking experience, and it's wonderful to know that we succeeded in doing so. Furthermore, your description of David as not just a tour guide, but a friend, truly warms our hearts. His ability to share engaging stories about Icelandic culture, history, nature, and personal experiences is a testament to his passion and expertise. We're also pleased that the use of a sustainable vehicle like the Tesla resonated with your values, contributing to an overall fulfilling and environmentally conscious experience. We are deeply grateful for your enthusiastic recommendation and the "big thumbs up" for Konrad Tours. Your satisfaction is our highest reward, and we look forward to the opportunity to provide you with another exceptional tour in the future. Warm regards, Konrad Tours Team

From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.

How much does From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $1979 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.

Is From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Reykjavik: Private Golden Circle Iceland Day Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?

    +

On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Reykjavik?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
