Awesome day guided by the Professor!
This was a fantastic day. "The Professor" was our guide, and he was fabulous! He was waiting for us at our hotel for pick up and was a fountain of knowledge from the time we left until he dropped us off. Truly a personalized experience. Would recommend 100%. Thanks, Professor, for a fabulous day.

Lucas is a Grade A tour guide
Lucas was our tour guide and driver (and photographer). He was very personable and attentive to any and all needs. Lucas also made outstanding suggestions for food and leisure time during, and for after the tour. The vehicle was clean and very nice while the tour was laid back and timely (but not rushed). This was an amazing day and experience. We DO recommend this tour company and would book again with them if the chance arises in the future. We thoroughly enjoyed our time.
Response from the operator: Thank you for this fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that Lucas made such a positive impression — he truly is a dedicated guide and we're proud to have him on our team. It's wonderful that he went above and beyond as your photographer and provided great recommendations throughout the day. We hope to have you on another adventure with us soon!

Neuschwanstein Castle 🏰 - Magic in Munich 🇩🇪
We had a wonderful experience and our tour guide, Tom, was exceptional. He was friendly, yet professional, and very knowledgeable. Although it was cold because we visited the castle in December, it was also magical with the snow falling and the ice on the trees. Inside the castle was incredible and we were impressed with the architecture and artistry, especially given the time period it was built. We are very thankful that we enjoyed this experience as a family.
Response from the operator: Dear Kathleen, Thank you very much for sharing your lovely review and for choosing to tour with us. We’re truly pleased to hear that your family had such a memorable experience, even in the winter conditions. Neuschwanstein in December has a unique charm, and your description captures that magic beautifully. We’re especially glad to know that Tomas’s friendly yet professional approach, along with his strong historical knowledge, contributed positively to your day. Delivering an experience that balances insight, comfort, and atmosphere is a key priority for us. Your appreciation means a great deal, and we’re grateful to have been part of such a special family moment. We hope to welcome you again on a future journey. Kind regards, Amir

Great Castles
This experience was delightful. Although a lot of driving was involved, the countryside with its Bavarian farms and the Alps in the distance was picture-perfect! Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castles did not disappoint. Don’t miss either one as they are quite different. King Ludwig did a great job! Be prepared, though, with snacks, because we did not get to Oberammergau for lunch until 3:30 and we had left at 7:45 am. I was very excited to see Oberammergau, but certainly disappointed that it was only a quick drive through the town and lunch topped off with a Bavarian ice cream. We had about ten minutes free time after that which didn’t give us time to really see all the beautiful buildings covered with paintings. I would have loved to explore a bit longer.
Response from the operator: Dear Susie, We’re glad to hear that you found the tour delightful and enjoyed the castles and the Bavarian scenery. At the same time, we can’t help but feel disappointed again by the rating you chose to leave us. We made several adjustments to improve your experience—starting the tour earlier than scheduled so you could have more time, organizing skip-the-line tickets for Neuschwanstein, guiding you through both castles, and bringing you to Oberammergau. You mentioned spending only ten minutes there, which is not true. The time allocated in Oberammergau was planned with your overall schedule and energy levels in mind, especially after a long day. Still, we ensured you had lunch and some free time, even if brief. What surprises us most is that, even after all this, we still couldn’t earn a 5-star rating from you. That raises a question—what more would have met your expectations on a day like this? We take pride in offering high-quality private tours and go to great lengths to tailor them to each guest. Your feedback is noted, but the rating feels unfair given what we delivered. We wish you well on your next adventures. Best regards, Amir

Why this scores 61
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour take?
+
Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does From Munich: Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Private Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
