A bunch of conmen and robbers

Hello, I had a horrible experience today and the service provider has conned and forced money out of me. I booked for 3 adults and 2 children. In the booking space on Booking.com, there was space for 3 adults which I paid £31.81 promptly. The children under 13 years were to be free and no payment was to be made. On arrival at the bus with the family, I was forced (at technically gunpoint) to make a payment of another MAD200 (£20) for the two children who were below 13 years old and who were meant to be free. No receipt was issued to me for this payment. Not only that, there was no guided tour service at the destination, the family were just dropped off with no lead and told to wander across the town with no guidance. I could have done this trip at far less cost if it was just to come to Essaouira and wander about for 3 hours.

At least a few hours of touring with forgotten camel ride but did get to see the goats...........

Paid for a tour and a camel ride and ended up with just a few hours in Essaouria after being dropped off and shoved between vans. Never got a camel ride (or a refund ) and drivers made special stops while on the way back, whole thing was not professional at all!!! On the plus side, I did get to see the goats.......

Trip to essaouira from marrekesh excellent value for money,

Excellent value for money, roads were very good expected dirt tracks, stopped for a coffee along the way, then stopped for a photo shoot of goats standing in a tree !!! Arrived 2.5 hours later to a beautiful fishing town, our guide was speaking English, Italian and Spanish to our group, very informative, told us the history, very surprised to find that they learn 3 languages in school, Arabic, French and Hebrew, very strong Jewish settlement there, and they all live in harmony. Toured the markets and cannoned walls of there, went for lunch, where you pick what fish you want, they weigh it, price it and cook it, that was the most pricey food on the whole holiday, my friend hated it, I loved it, it comes as is with head tail and bones, salad and chips, so fresh. We stopped at the Co op argan oil factory, bit off a rip off don't buy from there. Buy in the souk market instead where you can haggle. A great value for money trip

Response from the operator: Hi Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you have enjoyed your activity with us with a great package deal. Regards

Its A No For Me

Paid for guided your with option to camel ride. However, the tour I get was self guided with no camel ride. The Drive was very disengaged and never introduced himself or told the group his name. Grunts and hand gestured was his firm of communication.

Response from the operator: Apologies for the confusion. As you may be aware, we offer 3 option for Marrakech to Essaouira Trip. 1-Self Guided 2- Guided 3- Guided with Camel Ride My colleague got it wrong and put under self guided. You contacted us on your arrival in Essaouira and we sorted it our and as a goodwill gesture we offered you a partial refund for the inconvenience caused.

Great experience!

Yesterday was amazing! The driver did his job excellently, explained to us everything he was about to show us and answered to every questions we had. The guide was very good, he speaks a lot of languages and tried to talk with every single person of the group and communicate in their language. He was also fun, so we had a great time with him, walking around Essaouira. My favourite part was seeing all that goats on the argan trees!! 😂

Response from the operator: Hi Giulia, Thank you for your feedback. We are glad you have enjoyed your activity with us with a great package deal. Fun fact! goats have wings in Morocco!!! 😁 Regards Younes

From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.

How much does From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip cost?

+

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.

Is From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 67 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 2. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip?

+

Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Marrakech: Essaouira Day Trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Marrakech?

+

On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Marrakech?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Marrakech?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
