Avoid This Tour Company – Extremely Disappointing Experience

We booked the Panoramic Glass-Roof Bus Tour to Interlaken, Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald with KeyTours from Geneva because the panoramic bus was the main attraction and the itinerary promised guided sightseeing with free time in all three destinations. Unfortunately, the experience was a complete disappointment. About 10 minutes after leaving Geneva, it became obvious that the air conditioning had failed. Instead of cool air, the bus was blowing hot air, making the journey extremely uncomfortable. We stopped for around an hour while the driver tried to fix the problem, and there were no restroom facilities available. We were then taken to a service station to wait another hour for a replacement bus. When the replacement finally arrived, it was not the advertised panoramic glass-roof bus, the very reason we had chosen this tour. Because of the two-hour delay, the itinerary had to be shortened. We completely missed the advertised visits to Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen, leaving us with only a very limited amount of time in Grindelwald. The driver acknowledged that the situation was not his fault and advised passengers to submit a complaint to KeyTours because the company had failed to provide the proper vehicle. The worst part came at the end of our stop in Grindelwald. We were running only a few minutes late and had no way to contact the driver because KeyTours had provided no telephone number for either the company or the guide. We called another passenger on the bus, who repeatedly asked the driver to wait, explaining that we were only two minutes away. Despite this, the driver left without us. As tourists unfamiliar with Switzerland, we were stranded in Grindelwald and had to purchase train tickets back to Geneva at an additional cost. We eventually made our own way back after an unnecessarily stressful journey. Overall, we paid for a tour that: * Never provided the advertised panoramic bus experience. * Was delayed by approximately two hours because of a defective vehicle. * Left passengers behind despite being informed they were only moments away. * Forced us to pay substantial additional transportation costs to return to Geneva. Mechanical problems can happen, and we appreciate that. However, how a company responds to those problems defines its customer service. In our case, KeyTours failed to deliver the advertised experience, failed to provide any emergency contact information, and ultimately abandoned paying customers in a foreign country. Sadly, based on our experience, I cannot recommend KeyTours.

Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry that your experience did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify some points regarding what happened that day. As soon as we were informed of the technical issue with the bus, we immediately arranged for another vehicle to be sent in order to minimize the delay and allow the tour to continue. Unfortunately, due to the time needed for the replacement, the arrival in Lausanne and the rest of the itinerary were impacted. The replacement bus was provided as quickly as possible, but it was unfortunately not the panoramic glass-roof bus originally planned for the tour. This was an exceptional situation that occurred on the day, and our priority was to ensure that passengers could continue their journey rather than cancel the tour completely. Regarding the end of the tour in Grindelwald, the schedule had already been affected by the earlier delay. Passengers are informed of the departure time, and it is their responsibility to be back at the meeting point on time. While we understand that delays can happen, the bus could not wait indefinitely for late passengers as this would have affected all other guests on board. We would also like to mention that, after the issue occurred, it was still possible for passengers who did not wish to continue the tour to return to Geneva rather than proceed with the delayed itinerary. We understand your disappointment, especially regarding the panoramic bus experience, and we regret that this exceptional situation affected your day. We always do our best to find solutions when unexpected events occur, while also ensuring fairness to all passengers. Thank you for your understanding. Kind regards, Keytours Team

    Not worth of amount

There was nothing in Interlaken to spend the day and there is no guide in Interlaken as they dropped us at 10:00 AM and planning to pick up at 5:00. We have to upgrade our trip to Jungfraujoch and paid 600 CHF for it

Response from the operator: Dear Sir, Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad to hear that the tour itself was well described. We understand your concerns regarding the timing in Interlaken and the additional cost for upgrading to Jungfraujoch. Your comments are valuable and will help us improve future experiences. Kind regards

    Awesome day trip, so glad...

Awesome day trip, so glad that Lauterbrunnen was part of the trip we could have spent the day there! In Interlaken I very much recommend taking the tram to Harder Klum so worth it for the view alone. So glad our guide recommended it

Response from the operator: Dear Tricia, Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the day trip and Lauterbrunnen. It’s great to hear you loved the view from Harder Kulm—our guides are always happy to share their tips. We hope to see you again for another amazing adventure! Kind regards

Beautiful scenery but too long in one place

I have mixed feelings about this excursion. The scenery at both Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken was breathtaking. But we had only 45 minutes at Lauterbrunnen and not-very-good guidance from our guide about what things we should see there (waterfalls) and where to go to see them. Then we had FIVE HOURS of free time at Interlaken, which was way too much time for the amount of things to do there. The description didn’t mention the length of free time; if it had, I would have dressed for hiking, biking, or swimming. Also, our driver was very stressed because he had to get people to different destinations not associated with this particular excursion. At one point he said to someone in our group, “Move your ass. All of this chaos is because of you.” Finally, the temperature on the bus was like an oven; the A/C seemed to be blowing warm air. I was sweating through my clothes by the time we arrived back in Geneva. All in all, I liked the areas we saw but it was a long day that could perhaps be made a bit shorter.

Response from the operator: Dear Madam, Thank you very much for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the breathtaking scenery at Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken. We sincerely apologize for the aspects of your excursion that did not meet your expectations. We understand that 45 minutes in Lauterbrunnen may not have been enough to fully appreciate the waterfalls and the guidance provided was not as clear as it should have been. We will share your comments with our guides to improve the support and information given to visitors. Regarding the long free time in Interlaken, we appreciate your feedback and will consider providing clearer information about free time and suggestions for activities, so future travelers can plan accordingly. We are also very sorry to hear about the driver’s behavior and the bus temperature. This is not the standard of service we aim to provide, and we will address these issues internally to ensure a more comfortable and professional experience. We hope that despite these challenges, the beauty of the areas you visited made your day memorable. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Best regards

From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Geneva.

How much does From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus cost?

    +

Prices start at $136 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Geneva usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus take?

    +

Plan for about 13 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Geneva is not rushed.

Is From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Geneva, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus suitable for kids and families?

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Geneva to Interlaken Scenic Day Trip with sky glass bus?

    +

Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Geneva can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Geneva and add a light layer if any part of the 13-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Geneva within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Geneva?

    +

On Outty we rank every Geneva experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Award-Winning Geneva Chocolate &Old Town Tour (3h), Chamonix Mont-Blanc Full Day Guided Tour, Gruyères Cheese & Chocolate Small-Group Tour from Geneva. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Geneva?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Geneva?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
