    What you'll see and do

    1. Mercado de Loule

Visit Loulé Market, one of the most emblematic covered markets in the Algarve, known for its Moorish-inspired architecture, vibrant atmosphere and local character. Located in the heart of Loulé, it is a meeting point for locals and visitors, with fresh produce, fish, regional products, traditional sweets and local crafts. Guests can explore at a relaxed pace, discover Algarve flavours, take photos and experience everyday life in a traditional Portuguese town. On some days, the area around the market may be livelier, with local producers and artisans outdoors. Please note : on public holidays, Loulé Market may be closed or have limited opening hours. This depends on the market management and is outside our control. If this happens, the guide will adapt the stop to offer the best possible local experience in Loulé.

      60 minutes here

    2. Salir

Drive through the centre of Salir, a traditional inland village that shows a quieter side of the Algarve. As we pass through, the guide will point out typical Algarvian houses, narrow streets, small traditional doors and details of village life. This short passage helps guests understand how local communities have changed over time, with services and daily life still present in small countryside villages. Please note : this is a scenic drive-through, not a castle visit or walking stop.

      Pass by without stopping

    3. Stop at Alto do Malhão, a peaceful viewpoint in the Serra do Caldeirão, where guests can enjoy panoramic views over the inland Algarve and feel the contrast between the quiet countryside and the busy coastline. Nearby, visit a beautiful Buddhist stupa, an unexpected and symbolic place of calm, reflection and harmony in the hills of Loulé. The guide will share the meaning of the Menu publisher and its connection with nature and inner peace. This stop also includes a small regional tasting at a traditional countryside café — a simple and authentic moment to experience local Algarve flavours before continuing the journey.

      30 minutes here

    4. Alte

Stop in Alte, one of the most charming inland villages in the Algarve, known for its whitewashed houses, narrow streets, natural springs and peaceful village atmosphere. Before lunch, visit Vicario Waterfall, a natural spot near the village where guests can enjoy the scenery, take photos and relax. Access to the waterfall involves a wooden staircase, so good leg mobility and comfortable shoes are recommended. In warmer months, there may be time for a refreshing swim, depending on weather and local conditions. After the waterfall, we stop in the village of Alte for lunch. Guests are free to choose where to eat. Those who wish to follow the guide can have lunch at a local restaurant selected by the guide for a simple and authentic Algarve experience. Lunch is not included in the tour price. After lunch, enjoy a short relaxed walk through the village, crossing Alte on foot before returning to the van and continuing to the next stop.

      120 minutes here

    5. Benagil

Visit the Benagil cliffs from above and enjoy one of the most iconic coastal views in the Algarve. This stop is not a boat trip or cave entry, but a scenic visit to the top of the cliffs, where guests can admire the coastline, take photos and enjoy a short coastal walk with views over the Atlantic, limestone cliffs and natural rock formations. The guide will lead the group at a relaxed pace, sharing local context and helping guests discover the beauty of Benagil beyond the famous cave. Comfortable shoes are recommended, as the ground may be uneven in some areas.

    We had a fantastic day...

We had a fantastic day out on this tour. Our tour guide Bruno was excellent. He took us to see the alternative Portugal where locals live and work. The farmers market at Loule was fantastic as was the walk through the town meeting local artists and crafts people. Bruno knows the area very well and took us to the best sights. Lunch was good too on a small Resteraunt in Alte. He also gave us lots of information about life in Portugal which you don’t see in the tourist areas.

Response from the operator: Hello 😊 Thank you so much for your wonderful review — I truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience! It means a lot to hear that you enjoyed discovering the authentic side of Portugal. Loulé, Alte and those local moments are very special to me, so I’m really glad you connected with them. Wishing you all the best and I hope to welcome you again in the Algarve someday ✨

From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Faro.

How much does From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip cost?

    +

Prices start at $96 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Faro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Faro is not rushed.

Is From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Faro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Faro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Faro and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does From Faro : Benagil Cliffs, Waterfall & Small-Group Day Trip start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Faro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Faro?

    +

On Outty we rank every Faro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ria Formosa - Boat trip to the 3 Islands: Armona | Culatra Island | Lighthouse, From Faro: Benagil Cave, Marinha & Carvoeiro [Full-Day Tour], Ria Formosa Natural Park and Islands Boat Cruise from Faro. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Faro?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Faro?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
