We had a great time. The guide that took us around and talked about the lemurs was very knowledgeable, and you can tell he loved his job. Our daughter loved petting the giraffe. The steak dinner at the end was awesome.

Wine with Geoffrey the Giraffe
We absolutely loved this experience visiting Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari with wine and Dinner Experience at the Grapetown Vineyard in Fredericksburg TX. I was visiting from Los Angeles a friend who lives in Georgetown TX and we decided to do a last minute trip to Fredericksburg to see Texas Hill wine country. I'm very accustomed to Napa and Sonoma Valley in California and the vintner scene there. Found this delightful excursion on Viator with the advertisement of the rescued giraffe and other animals like zebras but could also drink some wine and then have a fabulous steak dinner afterwards. The trip far exceeded our expectations and feeding Geoffrey the Giraffe was highly entertaining and enjoyable for all involved including Geoffrey. And, the best part of this tour is that you could bring your family and friends of all ages to participate or go solo if traveling alone. The staff makes you feel most welcome and bend over backwards to facilitate a great experience. Truly a gem of an excursion in Fredericksburg TX wine country. We loved it immensely!

Fabulous Experience!
My husband and I were totally impressed with this excursion. The "Farm" was beautiful and we had an excellent experience. Ike, our guide was amazing and enjoyed our time seeing and visiting with the animals. Of course meeting the adorable Jeffrey (the giraffe) was so fun, he is too cute! The steak dinner was delicious and the oysters were the best we had ever eaten! Atmosphere was warm and cozy but also very entertaining! Would definitely recommend and hope to be back soon!! Being our 31st Wedding Anniversary, we couldn't have picked a better place to spend it! Thank you!!

Jeffery + Dinner = perfect day!
Jeffery was a blast and the petting zoo was also so much fun! The dinner afterwards was better than expected and the other couple on our tour were so wonderful and we were able to have dinner all together too! Would definitely recommend

The Full Experience in Fredricksberg, TX - Grapetown Vineyard & Farm
Dusty and all the others were simply amazing. They were so pleasant and excited about what they were doing. We had six in total in our group and, despite everyone starting that trip off as strangers, we quickly found that everyone had good chemistry and energy. We started off by hand feeding Jeffery, the sassy giraffe. He used that massive purple tongue to pull in the carrots and lettuce that we got to feed him. Plenty of opportunities for pictures and if you were quick enough you could briefly pet Jeffery on his big snoot. After this, we were treated to a flight of wines, four in total. Each was flavorful and I'm generally not much of a wine guy. With a little wine in us, the group relaxed and we were given time to get to know one another and speculate on what was to come next. Some time later, we were taken on a walking tour (trail was too muddy and the tractor was getting stuck) which included petting and hand feeding an alpaca, goats, sheep (one bossy fluffy dude kept pawing at my pants leg, which I thought was hilarious), and an ostrich (no petting of this guy, but pecking for sure). With this part of the excursion over, we then headed maybe 5 minutes down the road to Bankersmith Boil Shack and Sports Bar for a big, juicy steak with fries. Goats around back for more petting experiences. There was a very skilled older gentleman there playing guitar and singing some good music. You'll know a tune or two at least. That wrapped up our time with this experience. It was great and we plan on coming back to try out their other excursion options. Some ending notes: - The bathrooms at the Grapetown Vineyard & Farm are so very nice and clean with plenty of room, so there shouldn't be any waiting. - There were quite a few more animals there that I didn't mention. The one we did NOT pet (wisely) were things like peacock, kangarooo, and ring tailed lemurs. This isn't a complete list. - Our tour guide (I cannot recall her name; young woman with dark hair) was knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy what she was doing, which made the overall experience better. - I didn't feel in danger at any point. Words of warning though: that alpaca and that one sheep are some pushy fellas. You better make sure to have a good grip on that delicate food bag in your hand. I've never purchased anything on Viator before. First time. I definitely don't regret going. Fredricksberg is beautiful and full of life, despite being a very small town. It was lovely to see that, be a part of it, and have some local stuff planned out to go on along the way. My partner and I loved it. We will be returning at some point. Check it out if you can.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fredericksburg.
How much does Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience cost?

How long does Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fredericksburg is not rushed.
Is Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Fredericksburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fredericksburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fredericksburg and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fredericksburg Giraffe Safari and Dinner Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fredericksburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fredericksburg?
+
Fredericksburg sells Texas Hill Country wine tours with tastings and transport, Enchanted Rock hikes, distillery stops, WWII Pacific War Museum visits and wildflower drives. On Outty we rank every Fredericksburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-Inclusive Social Wine Tour, Fredericksburg Historic District Narrated Tour, Boutique Winery Experience in the Fredericksburg Texas Hill Country. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fredericksburg?
+
March to May for bluebonnets, September to November for harvest. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fredericksburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
