    Did not meet expectations

We scheduled a moms & daughters wine tour to celebrate a birthday. We were asked in advance for our wine preference - all of us indicating white. While not on a private tour, we were a group of 7 and 5 of 7 indicated a white preference. The tour took us to 3 wineries, one being completely all red and a second mostly red. Why ask for our preferences to only take us to the opposite preference wineries? One of those two was so rushed. We practically had to chug each tasting because they were ready to pour the next wine about 2 minutes later. A group of 15 walked in 10 minutes after us and it became obvious they wanted to move on from us and focus on them - you could tell they were regulars. For us to spend the money that we did for 4 people on this tour, our experience fell way below expectations. And the tour operator afterwards was unresponsive for over a week after repeated texts, emails and calls. I will say one good thing. Our driver Paul was GREAT. The only bright spot of this day.

Response from the operator: Hello, I was anticipating this review after hearing from Jennifer requesting Money for not leaving a poor review. That is always a red flag to any business owner. This review also does not reflect your experience on our tour and falsely accuses us of not following up. The Texas Hill country wine region produces red wines because of our grape growing conditions. On a public ticketed tour, we cannot guarantee any specific Winery and the three wineries that you’ve attended did offer white wine, but like every other Winery, red wine is the majority. And in my 15 replies to the emails that Jennifer claims she did not get, I explained all of this. If you wish to specific wineries or specific wines, you would need to to book a private tour. I suggest that you book that tour with another company.

A Disappointing and Poorly Coordinated Tour

This was a disappointing way to spend my birthday. There were 7 people on the tour, and 4 of us said ahead of time that we preferred white wine. We still went to one winery that was mostly red and another that was only red. One stop also felt very rushed. It did not feel like our preference was considered. The follow-up afterward was also poor. Overall, it was not the birthday experience I hoped for.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fredericksburg.

How much does Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch cost?

    +

Prices start at $229 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fredericksburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch take?

    +

Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fredericksburg is not rushed.

Is Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 87 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Fredericksburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch?

    +

Around 30 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fredericksburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fredericksburg and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Fredericksburg Texas Area Wine Tastings: 3 Wineries and Lunch start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fredericksburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Fredericksburg?

    +

Fredericksburg sells Texas Hill Country wine tours with tastings and transport, Enchanted Rock hikes, distillery stops, WWII Pacific War Museum visits and wildflower drives. On Outty we rank every Fredericksburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All-Inclusive Social Wine Tour, Fredericksburg Historic District Narrated Tour, Boutique Winery Experience in the Fredericksburg Texas Hill Country. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Fredericksburg?

    +

March to May for bluebonnets, September to November for harvest. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Fredericksburg?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
