Amazing 8 hours in Champagne
Our day with Philippe was amazing. His knowledge of Champagne, and the Champagne making process was astounding. We learned so much and more importantly, really enjoyed his company throughout the day. The aroma workshop was lots of fun as were the amazing food pairings. Tracy and I had a truly memorable experience, and I would recommend this tour to absolutely anyone interested in Champagne, food, or the history of the region. Thank you so much for making our anniversary trip such a memorable experience.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! I’m delighted to hear that your day in Champagne was such an enjoyable and memorable experience. It means a lot to know that the explanations about the region, the Champagne making process and the tasting workshop helped you discover Champagne from a new angle. I’m also very happy that you loved the aroma session and the food pairings — they truly are a fun and delicious way to deepen the experience. Sharing this special anniversary moment with you both was a real pleasure. Thank you again for your trust and your recommendation. I would be delighted to welcome you back to Champagne anytime for more discoveries!

Delicious and so much food
This was by far the best tour we took. Marine was an amazing tour guide and she answered all of our questions and even managed to find answers to some of our more odd ball questions. We did an English tour and she helped explain some French to us as we were confused by some of the grammar. The champagne and food were amazing. We really enjoyed trying the smaller houses. It seems like the smaller houses have more of a variety of smells and flavors than the larger houses. We were stuffed at the end of the tour and could hardly finish the final tasting. We really enjoyed the exercise at the beginning that has you identifying scents. It really helped me express what I did and didn’t like in champagnes. This helped me in the tastings we did on our own to pick champagnes I’d really enjoy trying.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! ✨ I’m so happy you enjoyed discovering Champagne and the art of pairing with me. It was such a pleasure meeting you — your curiosity and great questions made the experience truly special for me as well. I actually learned a few things from you too, which was really lovely! 🍾 I’m delighted that you appreciated exploring the smaller Champagne houses, the aroma exercise, the tastings and the (lot of) food— it’s always amazing to see how these moments help guests better understand and enjoy the incredible diversity of Champagne. Thank you again for choosing us for your Champagne adventure. I hope to see you again someday for another glass (or two!) in Champagne. 🥂 — Marine

Great tour
This was an excellent tour. We had been in contact beforehand to indicate our desire to learn, at a higher level, about the process of making champagne, particularly the influence of terroir and the rationale around the blending process. Our needs were fully met and included both vertical and horizontal tastings to help us understand the various influences on champagne production. Our guide was knowledgeable and the champagne houses we visited, very welcoming.
Response from the operator: Thank you for this 5-star review Roger and it was a shared pleasure to meet your expectations during this private day around Epernay in the most famous vineyards of Champagne, discovering its Champagnes and its Terroir in perfect harmony with numerous culinary tastings. All the riches of Champagne no longer hold any secrets for you :) Looking forward to seeing you again for other unforgettable experiences!

One of the best tour guides we ever had.
Matthis was fantastic! It all started with him helping us when we could not find our way from the parking lot by coming around and picking us up. We loved all the stops but really like Hautvillers. We like the small wineries. Matthis was very personable by asking everyone about themselves and what they liked. Matthis was also a great host - he noticed the details by helping without being asked. Our recommendation is to give him a raise to be sure he continues being one of the best tour guys we ever had. The Riddles - Jeannie and Joe.
Response from the operator: Thank you very sincerely, and I'm delighted to read your wonderful comment. It was a great pleasure to show you the vineyards of Champagne and to listen to you! I hope to see you soon in Champagne!

Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reims.
How much does Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour) cost?
+
Prices start at $841 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reims usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour) take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reims is not rushed.
Is Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Reims, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour)?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reims can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reims and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Food & Champagne Experience from Epernay (Private tour) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reims within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reims?
+
On Outty we rank every Reims experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group - Full Day Champagne Tour 3 Small Champagne Growers, Reims afternoon tour Champagne and family growers, Small Group - Half Day Champagne Tour - Visit of 2 Small Producers/Growers. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reims?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reims?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
