Sailing around the Saronic Gulf is always a great idea. The weather is usually ideal for a smooth sailing experience and a lovely day at sea. Distances between the islands are small and time flies when you are at sea! Especially if you are not used to sail, this experience is the best to start loving the boats and the sea. Athens is more beautiful from the water.. Be prepared to be amazed of the exotic scenery and the amazing colour of waters, just a breath outside this big city of Athens.

The best on sea experience in Athens
A huge thank you to Yannis, Denise and the crew onboard the Aiolis Cruise Experience. It was my wife and my wedding anniversary and the crew made us feel like millionaires onboard. We were picked up and dropped back to our hotel by transfer organised by the team, and were offered a drink onboard while the crew prepared the yacht for sail. We sailed out of the harbour and headed along the costline until we reached a shallow area to drop anchor and take a dip in the sea, which was fresh but warmer than we expected for June. Once we got back onboard, we were invited to dine and the food was exceptional and kept on coming. Luckily we ate after the swim - I ate so much I would have sank! Though-out the whole trip, the team were so warm hearted, good fun and attentive. We can’t thank them all enough for making our special day even more special. If you’re looking for an authentic experience, with amazing food, great people and exceptional views of the beautiful Aegean coastline, don’t think twice - Captain Yannis and crew are a must for couples and families alike. This isn’t just another cruise - it is truly a special experience where you’ll make memories that you’ll hold forever.

Must do excursion
This experience was amazing! Our captains took this excursion above and behind! My husband and I truly felt like we were on our honeymoon. The food was delicious and the wine was amazing. The views were unmatched.

Relaxing with wonderful food, fantastic hosts, and a fabulous sunset
In the middle of a full-on Mediterranean holiday stretching from Barcelona to Athens, we had one free day to fill while in Athens. Rather than leave the day to chance we found this wonderful experience and booked ahead from Australia. It was end of season so we had the cruise to ourselves - a bonus, but plenty of room on board for more guests in comfort. So relaxing from the moment we boarded the yacht and kicked off our shoes. A good option to take a break from the monuments of Athens and the usual tourist activities to enjoy time out on the water. The cruise allowed us to recharge, ready for the rest of our travels. Our hosts were fantastic. Our chef served up a feast of Greek flavours with local wine selections. We enjoyed some commentary on the area as well as some Greek music to relax with. Grateful for the hotel pickup and drop off. A great day from start to finish. Don't forget to take your swimming gear. THANK YOU AIOLIS and crew

Excellent birthday group experience.
Fabulous afternoon sailing with friends. We were a group of 10 people to celebrate a 50th birthday. Superb service from captain and crew. Exquisite local Greek food cooked by the yachts crew served to us on deck when we stopped in a bay. There was time for swimming, then lunch. Plenty of beer and wine or soft drinks. The crew made us at home and looked after us as we sailed down the coast from Athens.

Aiolis, A Phenomenal Experience!
When we returned to Greece in 2024 we took our own advice from a previous review of this cruise from 2023 and booked again so we could share our experience with other family members. Immediately on arrival with a warm welcome back from Giannis it was a great start for a perfect afternoon/evening. As always the service was impeccable as every effort is made by the crew to ensure the best possible experience while we cruised along on and enjoyed the view, stopped for swimming and viewed the sunset on the return to port. Dinner was a culinary adventure with diverse and well prepared local dishes that catered to everyone's preferences. We highly recommend this cruise and look forward to another with Giannis in the near future!

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.
How much does Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way cost?
+
Prices start at $231 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.
Is Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 122 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way?
+
Around 43 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Floating restaurant in Athens: Sail & Taste the Greek way start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Athens?
+
On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Athens?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Athens?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
