Many Thai and foreign tourists come here to absorb the atmosphere of Thailand water markets that have been like this for over a 100 years. 2. Mae Klong Railway Market (Hoop Rom Market)

The Railway Market is humorously called as the “life-risking” market! You will have fun riding a local train toward the Mae Klong station. While on this train, you will see the “Unseen-Thailand” experience. When the train signal rings up, the chaos will happen! Vendors will rush to detract their stall and clear away all goods that obstructs the running train at a great speed. Once the train passes, all shop owners will resume their stalls again.

    3. Coconut Sugar Farm

Visit a coconut sugar farm near Damnoen Saduak floating market. At this factory, you will learn how Thai farmers produce coconut nectar. You will see a demonstration of coconut flower cutting, pouring the nectar into a bamboo container, putting preservation woods in the container, boiling up and pasteurizing the nectar into the drinkable one. This will be your eye-opening experience!

    4. Samut Sakhon

The whitish salt field, not a rice field, of course. A special bonus tour for our guests who join our floating and railway market tour in 2020. This sea salt is produced by Thai local wisdom. The salt farmer will rotate the sea water in different levels matching the strength of wind and sunlight. The rotation will continue until the salt becomes a “salt mountain” which are ready for cooking, skincare, and agriculture. On the Highway 35 in Samut Sakhorn province, our guide will lead you to rub the salt to your hand and take amazing photos!

      15 minutes here

    5. Erawan Waterfalls

Erawan Waterfall is recognized as one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Thailand. The major attraction of the park is the 7-tiered Erawan Falls with emerald green ponds. Erawan has seven separate tiers spanning approximately 1,500 meters through the thick rainforest of the park. The park are named after "Erawan", the three-headed white elephant of Hindu mythology. The top tier of the falls is said to resemble an elephant head. Admission fee for foreigners are included in your tour.

180 minutes here · Admission included

    6. River Khwae Bridge

Thanks to several films and books, the Bridge over the River Kwai has become famous and attracted both Thais and foreigners to the site. If an ordinary black iron bridge can tell a story, you can be sure it's a dramatic one. The bridge has steel plates over the ties to make it easy to walk over the span. There are also viewing platforms between the trestles to give you a view of the river as well as to give you a place to get out of the way if you're on the bridge when a train comes. You will have a delicious lunch at a raft restaurant near the River Kwai Bridge.

    Great day out

Lin (guide) and Kevin (driver) were the dream team! Lin knows everyone in Bangkok(!) and called the train driver to ask him to reserve seats for us so we could get the best view of the risky market. She tailored the tour to our priorities and made all my kids feel comfortable asking questions. Kevin adapted his driving route to get us to the train station on time after our hotel messed up our breakfast boxes! We all had a great day out. Thank you Lin and Kevin

Response from the operator: Dear ScottieLR, Thank you for taking the time to share this wonderful account of your day. It is great to hear that Lin and Kevin looked after you and your family so well, and Lin's initiative in calling ahead to the train driver to reserve the best seats for the market railway experience is exactly the kind of thoughtful touch we hope every guest enjoys. It speaks volumes about Kevin too that he was able to adapt on the fly and get everyone to the station on time despite the breakfast box hiccup at the hotel. We will make sure both of them hear how much your family appreciated their efforts, and we hope to welcome you all back to Thailand again soon! Warm regards, Thailand Insight Travel and guide Lin

    Hidden Gems of Thailand

Our tour guide Lin was amazing and used her vast knowledge of Thai history and experienced network to make the most of this trip. Our driver Ty was excellent at getting us where we needed to go and always being ready to provide assistance. This was a cool way to get outside Bangkok and see some amazing sites that otherwise we wouldn’t have been able to get to. Riding the train to the Maeklong Train Market was an excellent adventure and gave us just enough time to sightsee and get some souvenirs. The coconut farm was really amazing and an awesome location to understand how every bit of the coconut is used, and find some truly memorable gifts. Finally, experiencing Damnoen Saduak was one of a kind - an intimate look at Thailand’s floating markets.

Response from the operator: Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us! Lin's deep knowledge of Thai history and her local connections truly help bring these destinations to life, and we are so glad that came through during your trip. Ty will also be pleased to hear his attentiveness on the road made a difference. The Maeklong Train Market is always a memorable adventure, and we love that the coconut farm gave you a genuine window into how this remarkable fruit is woven into Thai culture and daily life. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable journey through Thailand! Warm regards, Thailand Insight Travel and guide Lin

Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $121 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 95 out of 100, which we label "Peak Performance". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 864 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are. Scoring 90 or above puts it in the Outty 90+ Club, the top tier of everything we rank.

Can I cancel or reschedule Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour?

    +

Around 302 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Floating and Railway Market (Optional Waterfall): Private Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
