No one there when we arrived.

We made the reservation for 10:00am and arrived early at the boat. There was no one there to meet us so we called the phone number provided. We were told that the boat was going to depart at 1:30. No reason was provided for the change. We were on a cruise ship and could not make that change. This was going to be the highlight of our trip and we were very disappointed. I have no idea why we were not informed.

Response from the operator: We’re very sorry for this unfortunate situation. Unfortunately, the departure time had to be changed due to operational circumstances. We attempted to contact you several times using the phone number provided in your booking, but were unable to reach you. If the phone number was incorrect or unavailable, we unfortunately had no other way of informing you before your arrival. All communication attempts are logged in our booking system. We sincerely apologize for the disappointment and understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you were looking forward to the trip. Best reg Kurt Arild Larsen

    Real deal

Loved the trip. The skipper, Per, is a true seafaring Norwegian to the bone following his fisherman father. Along with the February weather and the ice on the deck, we went out to the fjord to fish. A couple of us caught cod. If you didn’t want to hang on the deck, the inside cabin was warm and cozy. His fish soap surpassed the restaurants. Very nice experience being out on the water looking out on tromso and snow covered mountains. -Gia

Response from the operator: Dear Gia, Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. It truly means a lot to us. We’re especially happy to hear that you enjoyed your time with Per. He comes from a long line of fishermen and knows these waters incredibly well, so it’s always great when guests appreciate his stories, skills, and authentic seafaring spirit. Fishing in the fjords during February can be a real Arctic experience — with crisp air, ice on the deck, and the dramatic scenery of Tromsø and the surrounding snow-covered mountains. Congratulations to those of you who caught cod! And we’re very glad to hear that Per’s fish soup lived up to (and even surpassed) restaurant standards — that’s a compliment he will certainly appreciate. It’s also nice to hear that the warm and cozy cabin provided a comfortable alternative while enjoying the beautiful winter landscape outside. Thank you again for joining us on the water and for sharing your experience. We hope to welcome you back to Tromsø someday for another Arctic adventure.

Amazing fishing experience! It was so much fun, and I even managed to catch five fish. The organizer is a very cheerful and interesting person, so the trip was never boring. Even in December, we were provided with very warm full-body suits, which kept us comfortable the entire time. After fishing, our catch was cooked into the most delicious fish soup. If I ever return to Tromsø, I would definitely do this again. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for this wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such an amazing fishing experience and even managed to catch five fish — that’s impressive! It’s great to know that the atmosphere on board, the warm suits (even in December), and the freshly made fish soup all contributed to a memorable day. We truly appreciate your kind words and recommendation, and we would be delighted to welcome you back to Tromsø for another adventure in the future. best reg kurt arild

Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen cost?

    +

Prices start at $247 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tromso?

    +

On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Chasing Lights: Aurora Big Bus Chase (All Photos Included), Tromsø: Small Group | Northern Lights Chase + All-Inclusive, Tromso Northern Lights Minibus Chase Small Group Tour with Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen?

    +

Included: Snacks; Driver/guide; Lunch; Beverages; and Tea and coffee. Not included: Alcoholic drinks (available to purchase). Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Where is the meeting point for Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen?

    +

Floating Jetty next to Scandic ishavshotel Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.

What languages is Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen offered in?

    +

It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Fishing - Luxury Yacht Arctic Queen?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

    +

The operator notes: Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Tromso. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
