Fishing in Tromso

If you are interested in fishing try another trip. Mostly riding with a little fishing. The captain tried to find a place to fish but the wind did not cooperate.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the fishing did not meet your expectations. Fishing in the Arctic fjords can sometimes be unpredictable, especially when wind and sea conditions make it difficult to stay in the best fishing areas. Our captain always does his best to find suitable spots, but safety and comfort on the water must come first. Our trips are designed as a combination of fjord cruising, scenery, and the opportunity to try fishing when conditions allow. On some days the fishing is excellent, while on others the weather can make it more challenging. We truly appreciate your understanding and your comment about the captain’s effort to find a good place to fish. Feedback like yours helps future guests better understand the nature of fishing in the Arctic environment. Thank you again for joining us on the water.

Who is Driving This Thing?

My wife and I went on a fishing trip on the Arctic Charm. The marketing materials said we would "meet our crew". It was a crew of one whose name was Per. He drove the boat, helped with the fishing gear, cooked the fish (while the boat was on auto), and regaled us with stories (while the boat was on auto). The boat is a catamaran and certainly needs at least two crew. We were told we could get out of the cold and inside to warm up. Practically no heat with a small fuel heater that had little to no impact. There is no warming up in a canvas tent covering a section of the catamaran. In the front of the boat a cabin area had a heater that was not working. All six of us asked to return early. We were also left by ourselves on the boat at the dock once returning and told to wait. After a few minutes we just got off on our own.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. We have operated Arctic fishing experiences for more than 10 years, and unfortunately this particular trip was affected by an unexpected technical issue. The heater, gradually failed during the tour. Once at sea, there was no possibility to repair or replace it, and we fully understand that this impacted your comfort. Regarding the crew: Arctic Charm is certified and legally operated with one skipper, which is standard for this vessel type and passenger capacity. The skipper’s role naturally includes navigation, guest assistance, and safety. Upon returning to the harbor, the skipper briefly assisted another vessel in a situation requiring immediate help. Maritime regulations obligate us to provide assistance when safety is involved. All guests were informed at the time. We are genuinely sorry that the heating issue reduced your enjoyment of the tour. Guest comfort is extremely important to us, and this was an unfortunate combination of circumstances we would have preferred to avoid. Best reg Kurt Arild

Arctic Fishing Trip with Self-Caught Fish for Lunch with the newest boat in town

Our captain was extremely friendly and hospitable. He showed us the correct fishing techniques and put us on to some awesome spots where we caught a lot of beautiful cod! The fish stew for lunch was delicious. Highly recommend this tour.

Perfect day on the water

My family ( 11 people, ages 9-76) had an amazing day on the Arctic Princess. It was cloudy and chilly, but the enthusiasm and kindness of the skipper was contagious. We quickly made ourselves at home and enjoyed our journey into the sea. When we came to a fishing spot, the kids were ecstatic! The skipper quickly got us situated and ready to fish. We caught quite a few fish, two that were over 20 lbs! The skipper made FANTASTIC fresh fish soup with the cod that my daughter caught. We had soup elsewhere in Norway, it did not compare…..this soup is special! This was a day we will never forget!

Response from the operator: :))) Thanks for nice feedback ;) Best reg kurt Arild

This is a once in a lifetime fun time!

While in Tromso to see the Northern Lights my daughter suggested we go fishing. I thought it would be too cold but once I saw the stay warm suits I was all in. We both caught fish (cod) and then the captain made us a wonderful fish stew/soup with it. I would go again and again if I had the opportunity.

Response from the operator: Super Thanks for feedback Best Regarding Kurt Arild Larsen And Per Ståle Larsen

Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tromso.

How much does Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso cost?

+

Prices start at $1465 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tromso usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tromso is not rushed.

Is Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tromso, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso?

+

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tromso can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tromso and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Fishing Trip with Luxury Catamaran in Tromso start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tromso within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tromso?

+

On Outty we rank every Tromso experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Minibus Chase from Tromsø with Chasing Lights, Northern Lights Big Bus Chase with Chasing Lights, Tromsø Northern Lights Chase We Go Where The Lights Appear. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tromso?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tromso?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
