Saved our trip
Staying in the Medina of Fez can be very intimidating as an American. It’s huge. Your gps doesn’t work in there. The difference between knowing good vendors vs bad is huge and there’s no way to know who’s trying to take advantage of you and who isn’t. Restaurants are tucked away in alleys that you can walk right past and miss. The advise to “wander around and get lost a few times” is terrible. We tried that in the Blue City and wasted a day of our vacation. After doing that, we knew we couldn’t do it again in Fez. We asked our Riad manager to recommend someone for us and he came back with Ahmed with Fez Medina Guides Walking Tours. Ahmed couldn’t have been better suited for the role. He’s a second generation guide that knew everywhere to go and everyone to speak with. He got us private tours of the tannery, carpet weaving, tile manufacturing, etc. He made the huge Medina feel safe and exciting, showing us things we would have never found on our own. I couldn’t recommend him highly enough.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! It truly means a lot to me. It was a real pleasure to spend the day with you and share the history, culture, and hidden corners of the Fez Medina. I'm delighted to hear that I helped turn what first felt overwhelming into an enjoyable and memorable experience. Fez is a fascinating city, but its maze-like streets can certainly be challenging for first-time visitors. My goal is always to help guests discover the authentic side of the Medina, meet talented local artisans, and experience places they might never find on their own while feeling comfortable and safe throughout the tour. Thank you for trusting me with your visit and for your kind words. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I hope to welcome you back to Morocco one day for more unforgettable adventures. Warm regards, Ahmed

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Fez.
How much does Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Fez usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Fez is not rushed.
Is Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Fez, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Fez can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Fez and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fez Medina Guided Walking Tour to Hidden Gems Souks and Tanneries start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Fez within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Fez?
+
On Outty we rank every Fez experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Day Trip to Chefchaouen from Fez ( instagram /Photos ), 3-Days Desert Tour From Fes to Marrakech via Merzouga, 3 Days 2 Nights Desert Tour from Fes to Marrakech via erg Chebbi. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Fez?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Fez?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
