Superior Service at Madeiralimo and Travel Agency

We were fortunate to be able to travel to beautiful Madeira in January 2024. We had the even better fortune to have the services of Madeiralimo Travel Agency for a good portion of the week. The service was outstanding for both touring and being taken to and from the airport to our hotel in downtown Funchal. Our guide and driver for the week Nuno Martins was always waiting for us prior to our designated times for pick ups. Madeira has two directions up and down and while the major highway compares to any good roadway, the secondary roads are narrow, steep, and sharp. You can tell that Nuno learned to drive in Madeira for despite the twists and turns the ride was always smooth. As well, he is an expert on the history, culture, flora and fauna of the island. His stories are both informative and entertaining. We would highly recommend Madeiralimo and travel agency, though only when we are not vacationing ourselves as we have dibs on Mr. Martins whenever we need transportation or touring in Funchal and throughout Madeira.

i need a refund

this port was cancelled from our island princess itinery...i am expecting a refund..please...i could not notify anyone from the ship...i had no phone or internet service....

Response from the operator: Dear Madame. Thank you for your opinion. I think it's very bad form to be making a payment refund request this way. It is not our fault that your cruise cannot dock in Madeira. Madame you did not use our services, did not give any satisfaction or answer to the email that we sent to you 2 months (31-10-2022) before the date of the tour that never happened. Value for money but could do with timing tweaks

Nuno the driver and guide was very competent and knowledgeable and even though some of the roads are tight we always felt safe. The tour even though good value for money , for our taste , had too many stops at places that didn’t warrant the time given and the dinner stop at Porto Maniz could have longer as that was a highlight of the tour. You certainly get a feel for this part of the island but as a tall person I struggled with the seat space but the vans were in good condition

Superb

My husband and I booked the West Tour with this company. What a day we had. We stopped at several view points to take photos, all of which were absolutely stunning. Our driver took us to a bar where we watched how the cocktail Poncha we as made, even sampling as glass. Lots of local information was given by our driver which made this very interesting. A visit to natural pools and then the tour finished off with a Madeira wine tasting session. An excellent day out

Efficient transfers but taxi in appalling state.

There were no hitches with our pick ups on arrival or departure but Madeiralimo was not what I expected. I booked our transfers via British Airways and when I Googled "Madeiralimo" I expected a certain level of service. What I was greeted with at Funchal Airport was nothing like that portrayed by the firms website. The driver marched us across the road to what I can only described as a dilapidated yellow taxi and not the black town car expected. It literally had gaffer tape along the floor by the rear doors, the boot did not close properly, air con did not exist and on several occasions the driver answered his mobile while driving. I can only assume we were booked on a "basic" taxi service but Madeiralimo needs to more transparent about this rather than hiding it away in its FAQ page that you can book an "upgrade" at a relatively 'low cost". Be very careful when booking with this company, especially if your booking has been via British Airways

However I must inform you that the transfer you purchased was a private transfer, the basic, if you were on our site would have the option to choose a more specific transfer such as a business transfer or a premium transfer.
