We booked the family buggy tour with Tourex Egypt and it was perfect. Pickup was on time, helmets and goggles were clean, and the buggies were in great condition. We drove about one hour and 45 minutes in the desert with a stop at a Bedouin tent for tea. absolutely loved it!

For us, this buggy tour was a complete disappointment. We paid a total of 90 euros for the experience and felt deceived from beginning to end. The pickup was already chaotic. We were picked up in a completely dilapidated van that didn't even have enough seats. Upon entering the safari park, we were also supposed to state that our children were five years old, even though they are actually six and seven years old. Obviously, this was intended to save money on admission – however, we didn't benefit from these savings. After arrival, we received practically no information. We were just told to wait. Eventually someone came who tied the typical scarves around us, and then we were led to the buggies. The condition of the vehicles was appalling. In our buggy, seat belts were missing or not working properly, the doors could not be closed properly, the speedometer did not work, and the check engine light was on. During the ride, our buggy even stalled. We had absolutely no confidence in the technical safety of the vehicles. The actual "safari" also had little to do with what we had expected. Due to the enormous traffic with countless buggies and quads, we were sometimes driving through the desert at a walking pace. The whole thing was more reminiscent of an overcrowded amusement park than a desert tour. After that, we were taken to a so-called Bedouin camp. This also appeared completely dilapidated. We were assigned a seat and given some tea in a small espresso cup. Afterwards, we sat around there for about 30 minutes without anything really happening. Then we continued with the buggies to a rock formation where you could hear an echo. Children were waiting there who were very persistent in asking for money or sales. It was particularly unpleasant for us that we were then very aggressively asked to record a video in which we were supposed to say how great the tour was. Our first attempt was apparently not good enough for the guide, so we were even supposed to record the video a second time. In the middle of the desert, several kilometers away from the nearest road, you naturally do not feel exactly free in such a situation to simply say no. The drive back was almost surreal. Next to us, it felt like about 20 other groups were out and about with buggies and quads. Many vehicles appeared to be in poor technical condition and were smoking heavily. In places, the whole thing had a bit of a "Mad Max" feel – only unfortunately not in a positive way. Back at the base, the next unpleasant experience followed immediately: We were very clearly pressured to leave a review on Tripadvisor immediately. After the previous experience with the forced video, that made an extremely unprofessional impression on us. Afterward, the show with dinner was supposed to follow. This venue was also in poor condition. On the way there, we saw rubble, damaged or exposed cables, and stray dogs. On-site, we received no explanation at all as to how the program was supposed to continue. We just sat around for about an hour at first. The restrooms were extremely dirty and unsanitary. The condition was so bad that I almost felt sick upon entering. The show could not save the evening either. To us, it seemed cheaply staged, the musical performance was disappointing, and at the same time, vendors kept walking around trying to sell things to the guests. In the end, we paid 90 euros for an experience that we would never have booked in this form. If someone had honestly explained to me right after the pickup how this evening would actually unfold, I probably would have said: "Keep the 90 euros – I'll even give you an extra 20 euros if you just take me back to the hotel." The most annoying part about it isn't even just the money. We are on vacation and lost a whole evening for this, which we could have spent much more nicely with our family at the hotel. For us, this tour was one of the worst tourist experiences we have had so far. We absolutely cannot recommend it in this form.

Several allegations in this review are directly contradicted by the booking, vehicle, and operational records. Your party made two separate bookings, each for one family buggy for up to four guests. Two family buggies were therefore provided exactly as booked. The price for each booking was €70, plus the clearly disclosed entrance fee of €5 per person. There were no hidden charges and no price was added or changed after booking. You also claimed that the transfer vehicle did not have enough seats. This is demonstrably incorrect. The vehicle was a modern model licensed for 15 passengers, while only 12 guests were travelling—meaning three seats remained available. The allegation that the children’s ages were changed to save money is equally impossible. Every child over three years old pays the same €5 entrance fee. Whether a child is five, six, or seven years old makes absolutely no difference to the price and provides no financial benefit to anyone. The claim that you were forced to record a video or leave a positive review is also false. Both are entirely voluntary. We retain the complete, time-stamped video from the experience, which shows you relaxed and smiling. Your group also voluntarily tipped the guide after the tour. All booked services—including hotel transfers, the buggy experience, dinner, and the show—were fully delivered. Only after completing the entire experience did you request a full refund through Viator. When that refund was declined because all services had already been provided, this one-star review was posted immediately afterward. The timing speaks for itself. We respect genuine criticism and every guest’s right to express a personal opinion. However, claims about hidden fees, insufficient seating, manipulated ages, and forced recordings are not opinions—they are verifiable allegations, and the available evidence shows that they are false. All booking records, vehicle details, video evidence, and the refund history have been formally submitted to Tripadvisor for investigation.
