Explore Estes - Rocky Mountain National Park
We had a great private tour with Explore Estes. Riley was very knowledgeable and friendly. He allowed us to adjust the tour as we went. I highly recommend this tour of the Rocky Mountain National Park.

First Time in Estes - Best Decision Ever!
If I could give 10 starts I would as this was the best decision I made for our entire time in Colorado. I wish everyone could experience Estes and RMNP with Riley as their guide. Very knowledgeable about the area, Riley showed us places that were not overly populated with tourists (like ourselves) but had the best views we could have hoped for during our limited time in RMNP. We started and ended the elk tour seeing about 100 elk, hearing the bull bugle, it was magical. Thank you Riley for setting the standard for every tour guide going forward.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind words! It really means a lot, these kind of reviews help me feel like I'm doing the best job I can! Riley

Beautiful day in RMNP
This was an amazing way to see the highlights and breathtaking beauty of Rocky Mountain National Park! Our guide Riley was knowledgeable, kind and accommodating, showing us all the best sights while catering to our interests. We strongly recommend this tour to make the most of your time in the park!
Response from the operator: Thank you! Riley

Outstanding Elk Rut Tour
For anyone wanting to take a deeper dive into Rocky Mountain National Park, I highly recommend the Elk Rut tour with Riley Higgins. Having toured the park the prior two days on our own, believing we’ve seen close to everything, the Elk Rut tour with Riley took us into far more than we had experienced. He took us down the Fall River road, provided interesting stories about the parks history, its flora & fauna, as well as the parks lore. I give an outstanding endorsement to Riley Higgins and his Elk Rut tour.
Response from the operator: Thanks so much! I'm glad I could help you enjoy RMNP more than you already had! Riley

Great Experience
We had a wonderful tour with Riley on our last day in Estes Park and the only day Trail Ridge Road was open during our stay. Riley is very accommodating and made the tour so enjoyable. He has a great amount of knowledge about the park’s history, wildlife and geography. Would 100% recommend a tour with Explore Estes.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much! I'm glad we were able to get up Trail Ridge Road during your tour! Riley

Why this scores 74
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Estes Park.
How much does Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $150 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Estes Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Estes Park is not rushed.
Is Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 36 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Estes Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Estes Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Estes Park and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Fall Private Elk Rut Rocky Mountain National Park Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Estes Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Estes Park?
+
Estes Park is the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park: guided Trail Ridge Road tours, wildlife and elk safaris, rafting, horseback rides and Stanley Hotel ghost tours. On Outty we rank every Estes Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Top of the World Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours), Retractable Glass Top Tours of RMNP by Purple Points Tour Company, The Rocky Mountain National Park Safari Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Estes Park?
+
June to September for full park access, September for the elk rut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Estes Park?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
