Great experience!
Worth the money and time. My tour guide was Juli and he picked me up punctually. He was very kind and knowledgeable and informed us on the culture and history of Albania on the way to the port, as well as attentive on needs like bathroom breaks and coffee/food. The views are immaculate and the waters are so unbelievably pristine. I wouldn't pass on this great experience!

Spectacular Karaburun peninsula
Thank you Choose Balkans for your support. This trip is a unique experience with lots of fun experience. The pirate themed cruise was a little long though but holds up really the partying vibe throughout the entire peninsula. Fascinating stuff to swim in Adriatic dark blue water. Mr Arian our tour guide is a pleasant warm person with lot of interesting insights. We enjoyed the cave of Haxhi Aliu which was spectacular and especially beautiful stalactite walled water inside.. greatly enjoyed to swim. Thanks once again Choose Balkans for this amazing trip.

Beaches were beautiful!
Pirate ship was loud and fun (heads up if it’s not your scene!) the beaches were pretty rocky so if you have swim shoes bring them it’s worth it. Our driver/tour guide was Renato. He is local and his dad used to work at Sazan Island so had interesting insight. He also took us to the best place for byrek in the country as a bonus. Great day trip!

Unforgettable swimming in Haxni Ali marine cave
Second trip in Albania we went to Sazan island. Sirma from Choose Balkans agency again helped us to organize our trip from A to Z . Our tour guide Eri picked up us from the hotel in Tirana and our way to Vlore was approximately 2 hours . On the pier our pirate boat was waiting for us and other tourists . Our adventure on the boat was so funny : there was a real pirate who was dancing with us , taking photos . One beverage is included per person and upstairs there is a bar where you can purchase beer or any spirit. Music is so nice , we were dancing and enjoying the view of Adriatic Rivera . Eri was all the time with us and intertwining us on boat . On the first stop Sazan Islam at around 2 hours you have a hiking tour with pirate to explore ex military island and free time for swimming at the beach . That we continued to Peninsula island and a boat made 360 degree turn around in front of Haxni Ali cave to make sure we all took a nice photos and video with beautiful panoramic view. On Peninsula island Eri announced that we have almost 3,5 hours our free time. Some guests from our group decided to stay at the beach . But for me and my husband the main purpose of this trip was swimming inside Haxni Ali cave . Speed boat took us inside cave and it was just a dream experience. Additional cost for the speed boat service just 10 euro and will highly recommend it to all travelers . This cave like a magic : smooth water surface in a border between Adriatic and Ionian Sea . I would like to give a special recognition to our guide Eri as he been always with us during this trip and made sure this day was very memorable and all facilities so comfortable. Well done Eri and keep it up ! We wish you success in your career and always good guests . We will never forget our trips in Albania . And definitely will be back as your country is so beautiful and there is a lot of places to discover !!!

Live out your pirate Fantasy!
This was our second Trip with choose balkans. Again they delivered the highest of standard in terms of service. My wife and I are still in awe of the cave. Visiting the cave is extra on board at 10euro person but really worth it , don’t skip it . Our guide Eri was wonderful again and kept us of informed and entertained throughout the tour.

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tirana.
How much does Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana cost?
+
Prices start at $256 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tirana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tirana is not rushed.
Is Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tirana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tirana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tirana and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Explore Vlora Bay: Sazani Island &Karaburun peninsula from Tirana start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tirana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tirana?
+
On Outty we rank every Tirana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tirana- Hiking Tour to Bovilla Lake & Gamti Mountain, From Tirana / Durres: Gamti Mountain and Bovilla lake Day Trip, Kruja castle, the old Bazaar & Sarisalltik- Departure from Tirana. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tirana?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tirana?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
