Fantastic country
I have visited Sri Lanka on 2 separate locations. Once with a girlfriend when we were 23 and again with my husband and daughter a couple of years ago. Sri Lanka is a beautiful country with plenty of things to do and see. When i went as 2 girls travelling together, my friend and I were concerned whether we would be save. We very quickly realised that we were. The people are extremely friendly and we had the opportunity to meet the family of the hotel assistant manager in their home in Kandy which was a great experience. I wanted to return with my family to show them the beauty of the country and the lovely people. Please do not be put off by what has happened recently. I would definitely visit again. The jewellery is out of this world and i came home with sapphire and diamonds and a ring that it totally unique changing from a diamond ring to a sapphire and diamond one with one click. You will not regret visiting

Travelling north - and east - and beyond...
This was our third visit to Sri Lanka, and encouraged by a friend in Colombo, we were keen to venture beyond the 'usual' places to explore the north and east of the country. We had a wonderful guide, Sumith, who was also interested in getting off the beaten track. Our journey took us up to Jaffna, then slowly down the east coast, before heading into the Highlands. Our travels were designed to accommodate a blend of history and culture, mountains, coasts and wildlife. Everything went really well and every day we enjoyed fresh landscapes and new experiences. While Sumith made sure that he was well prepared for the overall daily itinerary, he was also ready to follow up on some of the suggestions offered by our guidebook to go to some of the less-visited cultural sites where we were often the only tourists. This meant that we were able to feed our appetite to travel the backroads of the countries we visit! Our booking through Lakpura was handled smoothly and was well managed. Sumith quickly tuned into our personal interests as visitors to his country and he was happy to share his knowledge and insights to deepen our own understanding of the diverse characteristics of Sri Lanka. We look forward to another trip to Sri Lanka soon and we will not hesitate to contact Lakpura again to help us plan it all.

Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Negombo.
How much does Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis cost?
+
Prices start at $1100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Negombo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis take?
+
Plan for about 48 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Negombo is not rushed.
Is Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Negombo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 48-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Negombo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Negombo and add a light layer if any part of the 48-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Explore Sri Lanka with Christopher Alvis start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Negombo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Negombo?
+
On Outty we rank every Negombo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Car & Driver for 07 Days Tour In Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka classic tour 8 Days with private driver, vehicle and H/B accommodations, Explore Sri Lanka 7 Day Private Driver Tour and Scenic Transfer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Negombo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Negombo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
