Selime Monastery
Welcome everyone to Selime Monastery, one of the most impressive sites in Cappadocia. Before we start climbing, please be careful because the steps are steep and uneven. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time. This monastery was carved into the soft volcanic rock during the Byzantine period, mainly between the 8th and 11th centuries. It was one of the largest religious centers in the region and served as a home for monks, a place of worship, and a center for education. As we walk through the complex, you'll see that this wasn't just a church. It was actually a small self-contained community. There were churches, monks' living quarters, kitchens, storage rooms, stables for animals, and even areas where food and wine were prepared. Everything was carved by hand from the rock, which makes this place even more remarkable.

Everything was absolutely amazing from start to finish! The organization was excellent, and everything was perfectly planned. The pickup was smooth, always on time, and every activity started exactly as scheduled. We really appreciated the professionalism and punctuality. A special thank you to the team at the Darma Travel office. They were incredibly kind, patient, helpful, and always ready to answer our questions and make sure everything went perfectly. Our Jeep Safari guides, Süleyman Bey and Salih Bey, were both fantastic—friendly, professional, and made the experience so much fun.
