10 minutes here
Schloss Neuschwanstein
Castle NEUSCHWANSTEIN - dream destination of countless travellers from all over the world! No building in Germany is visited more often than Ludwig's most famous fairytale castle, which began construction in 1869. It was dedicated to Ludwig's favorite composer Richard Wagner; the neo-Romanesque facade deceives the fact that the progressive king had it built as a high-tech castle. During the 35-minute guided tour of the castle, you will be shown all the completed living rooms of the king. On the following 15-minute way to the exit you will pass through one of the unfinished floors, after which you will see the unusually modern kitchen of the castle as well as the planned bathroom. Skip-the-Line tickets are already included in the travel price!

Mary's bridge ("Marienbrücke") - THE TOP VIEWPOINT - built in 1866 by King Ludwig II is one of the most famous in the world! It can be easily reached by a shuttle bus (€ 3.00 p.p.) from the parking lot or on a 40-minute uphill hike. From the bridge you'll reach the castle entrance within a 20-minute walk downhill and pass one more magnificent viewpoint!
20 minutes here
Poellatschlucht
Enjoy views of the spectacular Pöllat waterfall from the Neuschwanstein Castle Courtyard and from the view point Marienbrücke "Queen Mary's Bridge" (for departures after 8 a.m. waiting times are possible; in case of snow and ice, the bridge is closed). The Pöllat is a 10 km long wild river and rises not far from Neuschwanstein Castle in the Bavarian Alps.
10 minutes here
Schloss Hohenschwangau
Look forward to Hohenschwangau Castle, the neo-Gothic summer residence of King Maximilian II (the father of Ludwig II), also with an overwhelming fairytale interior and a spectacular children's room. For the 45-minute guided tour, we reserve a skip-the-line admission for you. Entrance fees (2025): € 26.00 / adult, € 14.50 / child 7 - 17 years, € 2.50 child under 7 years *****

Plansee Lake
Between Neuschwanstein Castle and Linderhof Castle, there are almost 60 minutes' drive on the most scenic routes. The highlight is the Plansee, which is surrounded by high Alpine peaks. Depending on the traffic situation or – in winter – in case of avalanche danger, we drive a similarly attractive route on the Bavarian side.
10 minutes here
Schloss Linderhof
In the middle of a remote Alpine valley, Ludwig II built his most magnificent and at the same time most intimate castle. Let yourself be overwhelmed by the rooms decorated in French Rococo style during the 30-minute guided tour! ***** Skip-the-line ticket per adult (2025): € 10.00 Children under 18 years: free admission ***** In the castle park itself, other attractions can be visited, such as the Venus Grotto, which reopened in April 2025 (€ 3.00 per adult extra; the Venus Grotto can only be reached on a very steep path of about 0.3 miles and is closed in winter)

Oberammergau
Due to the COVID-crisis, the famous Oberammergau Passion Play had to be postponed for the first time since the 2nd World War. Normally, this major event, which dates back to the 17th century, always takes place during the full decade. We are happy to show you the Passion Theatre with its spectacular "convertible stage" on a guided tour of the town and will also be happy to explain the enchanting frescos/murals ("Lüftlmalereien") to you. Take time for a shopping spree in the historic town centre - numerous shops offer inexpensive souvenirs in a large selection, including the famous Oberammergau wood carvings.
30 minutes here
Ettal Abbey
Founded at the beginning of the 14th century, Ettal Monastery is one of the highlights of this tour due to its Gothic-Baroque church. The Benedictine monks not only run a grammar school, but also brew the delicious Ettal monastery beer, which can be enjoyed on site together with specialties from Bavarian cuisine in one of the numerous inns.

Know before you go
- Specialized infant seats are available
- Not recommended for travelers with poor cardiovascular health
- Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller
- Wheelchair accessible
- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- Are you able to walk slightly uphill from the car park to Neuschwanstein castle - approx. 1,5 km/1mile in an hour's time? If not, we have to calculate additional (waiting-) time for the horse-hybrid carriage or the Shuttle bus (not operating during snow and ice) – Anyway, an approx. 450 meters/0.28 miles uphill walk (up to 15 % slope) or an approx. 500 meters/0.3 miles downhill walk (up to 19 % gradient) from the respective terminal to the entrance of the castle have to be managed in any case! We can accompany you so that you can reach your castle tour in time.
- In Neuschwanstein Castle, a total of 346 stairs (up and down) have to be mastered. If this is too much for you, and if you are a wheelchair user or have a corresponding medical certificate of a walking disability (must be scanned in advance and sent to us), we can request an exclusive lift service only for you with a maximum of one accompanying person, accompanied by the castle staff. The elevator service is at no additional cost, but (due to fire safety regulations) the number of tours with this service is very limited and must be reconfirmed by the castle authority. If you are mobile restricted, please inform us directly when booking under "Special Requirements" so that we can take any necessary measures.
- To Hohenschwangau Castle there is a carriage (not in the winter season) almost from door to door. You have to climb stairs to the 3rd floor and back (no elevator).
- Linderhof Palace is quite easy to reach from the parking lot on a relatively flat route: The castle is a 15-minute walk, in the castle itself only the stairs to the first floor have to be mastered.
- Each castle can also be reached with prams, but during the castle tour neither they nor other larger pieces of luggage (e.g. cranes, larger backpacks) are allowed.

Magical Wonderland
Max was AMAZING from the moment of pickup at 7 AM through the whole day until drop off at 7 PM! Our family learned many intricate details from a native Münchener on the tour. Not only were we able to visit all 3 castles, he also managed to squeeze in a visit to Oberammergau & Pilgrimage Church of Wies Wieskirche (by ourselves)! And he brought us to a lovely local lunch for locals (Schönegger Käse-Alm) where we got to enjoy delicious cheeses! The weather was a magical winter wonderland adding more of a “pinch me moment to the entire day!”

Beautiful experience !
We had a wonderful day with Stephan. He provided us a beautiful trip through the Bavarian countryside to three castles. His vehicle was top notch (beautiful Mercedes van) and he explained so many interesting facts about the area and the castles themselves. We highly recommend this tour !

Beautiful Bavaria with our own personal tour guide and driver
Exploring Bavaria with a private driver and guide is definitely the way to go! We were able to choose our own itinerary and spend the time we wanted at each venue. Our wonderful driver and guide, Katrin, shared information along the drive and secured any tickets that were needed. She planned a route that allowed us to see everything on our list: Alpine Coaster, Linderhof, Neuschwanstein, Hohenschwangau and a lovely visit to Fussen. We would book again. The personal attention can't be beat! Thank you Katrin!!

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich cost?
+
Prices start at $221 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich take?
+
Plan for about 10.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 10.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does EXCLUSIVE 3 Royal Castle SKIP-THE LINE Tour of Neuschwanstein + Linderhof + Hohenschwangau from Munich start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
