From November to July (and during pandemic times!) the huge area is practically empty, with only the largest bronze statue since antiquity, the Bavaria, along with the Hall of Fame from the 19th century seated behind it, forming an extremely impressive ensemble.

20 min later we reach the impressive Lake Starnberg, also known as the “Dukes lake”. Magnificent villas stretch along the lakeshore, including the summer residences of Sissi, the pretty but unfortunate Empress of Austria. See the spot in the lake where King Ludwig II mysteriously died on June 13, 1886. Learn about the strange relationship between Ludwig and Sissi, and why he didn't want to marry Sissis younger sister. The only island of the lake ("Roseninsel") which was in royal possession, too, was the meeting place of Ludwig and Sissi several times...

An absolute must for touring the Ludwig Castles
We had such a wonderful day visiting Hohenschwangau, Neuschwanstein & Linderhof with Stefan's excellent guidance. He shared incredible insight throughout the tour, pointing out areas of interest along the route and providing associated historical facts. Our trip was well planned and went exactly as scheduled. The day trip far exceeded our expectations and was a highlight of our trip. We highly recommend booking this tour option with Stefan - you will be just as impressed as we are.

Fantastic Bavarian Dream Tour
Maria made this day absolutely unforgettable. We were able to see so much in one day, so if you have the time, do not hesitate to take this tour. Trying to arrange this and accomplish what we did on your own would be impossible. The tour is not cheap but worth every bit! Be sure to do the extended version. Well worth the extra time and money.

5-STARs Class A Service from Sightseeing Bavaria Exclusive!
I am absolutely delighted to tell every reader that our Skip The Crowds Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich was worth the expense! Karl is a terrific driver, a street-smart and kind man. He deserves every positive praise we can send your way. Our day trips with Karl were amusing and full of laughs that we will treasure the rest of our lives. Karl is also very good with kids. I'm sure my daughter talked his ear off. The van was very comfortable and was a joy to have water both still and sparkling each day. Pick-up and drop offs were on-time allowing us maximum time at our locations. Karl gave us that special touch that luxury travel tourists expect. This was a trip of a life-time! I am so glad I picked Sightseeing Bavaria Exclusive!

He made sure I saw the things I wanted to see and added a few extra stops to make sure my whole experience was incredible. Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.
How much does EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS cost?
+
Prices start at $228 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS take?
+
Plan for about 9.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.
Is EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 23 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS?
+
Around 8 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 9.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does EXCLUSiVE SKIP-THE-CROWDS Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Castle Tour from Munich INCL. TICKETS start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Munich?
+
On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Munich?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Munich?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
