    About this experience

Today’s tour begins at 4:30 AM with the first opportunity to visit Angkor Wat temple at sunrise. After experiencing the breathtaking sunrise, we will take a breakfast break. Following breakfast, we will continue to explore Angkor Thom, visiting its South Gate, West Gate, North Gate, and East Gate. We will also tour several significant sites within Angkor Thom, including Baphuon Temple, the Angkor Ancient Royal Palace, Phimeanakas Temple, the Elephant Terrace, and the Terrace of the Leper King. The equinox sunrise casts a stunning glow behind the towers of Angkor Wat, making it the premier location in Siem Reap to witness a spectacular sunrise. I suggest an early morning excursion where we position ourselves in front of the reflection pool. With a bit of luck, the colors of the sky will beautifully illuminate the temple, allowing us to capture this iconic site at its most magical moment.

    What you'll see and do

    1. Angkor Wat

The tour begins at 4:30 AM, departing from your hotel to witness the breathtaking sunrise at Angkor Wat. The Angkor Wat sunrise is the most popular tour in Cambodia and is a solar phenomenon considered a hierophany that occurs twice a year during the spring and autumn equinoxes. This event is part of the many astronomical alignments that highlight a "fairly elaborate system of astronomy" and reflect the Hindu influence in the construction of the vast temple complex of Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world and is renowned for being one of the best-preserved. It is also an architectural masterpiece of the Khmer civilization. Its perfection in composition, balance, proportions, relief, and sculpture makes it one of the finest monuments globally. Angkor Wat combines two fundamental designs of Khmer temple architecture: the temple-mountain and the later galleried temple. It is designed to represent Mount Meru, the home of the devas in Hindu mythology.

You Need to Tour with Hok

I had booked a similar tour to Angkor Wat with a leading tour company. A friend I was wishing in Cambodia referred mo to Hok. I immediately connected with him on WhatsApp and he was very responsive and helpful. He told me things that I would not have known and recommended the sunrise tour. I canceled my other tour and went with Hok. This tour was amazing! I say this not only for the temples that we visited but also the excellent narrative that Hok provided along the way. He picked me up at my hotel, took me to buy my ticket, provided lunch and local snacks as well as lots of cold water and took me back to my hotel. A total of 11 hours and was a day I will never forget. I booked another tour yo the lake for half of the next day and Hok was kind enough to take me to the airport. Book with Hok and you will not be disappointed!!! I can’t wait to come back again and Hok will he the first person I contact. You should too.

    Parent’s first trip

I arranged a tour with this group for my parents’ first visit to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. They were incredibly responsive and easy to communicate with throughout the entire process. The team was also very flexible and went above and beyond to cater to my parents’ needs, ensuring they were comfortable every step of the way. They handled all transportation from start to finish, across the two cities, and everything was always on time. There were so many wonderful places to see, and my parents absolutely loved them all. I would highly recommend their services to anyone and will definitely use them again in the future. Thank you for making this trip so smooth and memorable for my parents!

Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Siem Reap.

How much does Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group cost?

    +

Prices start at $66 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Siem Reap usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group take?

    +

Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Siem Reap is not rushed.

Is Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Siem Reap, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Siem Reap can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Siem Reap and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Exclusive 1-Day Angkor Wat Sunrise Experience with a Small Group start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Siem Reap within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Siem Reap?

    +

On Outty we rank every Siem Reap experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Small-Group and Guide tours, Angkor Wat full Day 'Small Group with sunset & Tour Guide, Angkor Wat Sunrise or Sunset Tour with Guide from Siem Reap. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Siem Reap?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Siem Reap?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
