Peace and Perfection
ELLERTON BUNGALOW 4 - 5th December 2026 Of all the hotels/bungalows we stayed in during our time in Sri Lanka the Ellerton was by far our favourite. We had the most wonderful welcome from Luca and his team who were so pleased we had made the journey so soon after the cyclone hit the week before. As we were the only guests for the two days Luca kindly upgraded us to a large room overlooking the pool and Luca and Ironi and all the staff looked after us so well. It is just so amazingly peaceful and the views from the terrace across the hillside are spectacular. The gardens are beautiful too and we never tired of looking at all the beautiful colourful plants. The meals we had were cooked to order and were just delicious especially the beef curry and the hoppers for breakfast. Definitely recommended. Luca and Ironi really engaged with us and we almost felt more like friends than their hotel guests. Luca was keen to show us all around the house and kitchen area too and freely spoke of their journey to make the property and gardens what they are today. They truly have done an amazing job. The Ellerton is not only just any hotel however. Luca and Ironi are heavily involved in the local community supporting the local people by buying local produce and supplies as well as extensive charity work. We saw this first hand as the area had been badly damaged by the storm affecting the locals quite badly. They truly are part of the local community there and clearly very well respected. They also support local artists exhibiting their work which is available to purchase should you wish. A special mention to Abdullah, the Estate Manager, who drove us up and down each day to and from the Bungalow by an alternative route. The main road was badly damaged and our vehicle could not cope with other route. It would be unfair not to mention the three friendly dogs, Sam, Boona and Luna. Sam is a real character and just such a softie and adorable. We really wish we could have stayed at Ellerton much longer but as our trip was pre-booked our time there was just too short. It really is a special place and it touched our hearts more than anywhere else. Thank you Luca and Ironi and everyone who looked after us. Good luck with your future plans and one day we hope to return. Michael and Dorothy

An amazing, honest and caring company
I had a really positive experience with this company. I first enquired about the Kandy by night tour as we were arriving from Colombo at 2pm. They kindly offered to start the tour from the Railway station giving time to go and check into the hotel. We then made a few stops, to the Buddha statue and temple on the hill. Then to a commonwealth war cemetery, then onto a Gem store and afterwards the Cultural show, Afterwards we went to the main market but realised it wasn’t for us so stopped at the Queens Hotel. Our guide offered for us to go to the Temple with the Tooth Relic, but we were tired and hungry and opted for the hotel. The guide was a very nice. But quiet gentleman of few words. The next day he was promptly waiting to take us to the Ella tour which involved stops at the Ravanna waterfall as well as a Tea Plantation and Factory Tour. The weather was against us and as we awaited the train, tickets handed to us for 1st class carriage to Ella, with the driver following to bring us back. My friend received news of a bereavement. The driver agreed to take us back and was very kind and understanding. In fact, the company was really lovely, offering us a discount since we missed some of the tour which I thought was a really kind gesture. Also, they were always on hand by WhatsApp communicating in perfect English. I arranged a transfer to Ahungalla with them that was a reasonable price and met another lovely Sri Lankan man who drove us there. A couple of days before reaching Colombo they also booked me a city tour and included Negombo which was well worth it. The guide was amazing, very knowledgable and we really enjoyed it a lot. I was able to pay for some things online in advance and others on the day in person. This was really helpful, everything about this company was helpful, honest and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to arrange all your tours while in Sri Lanka.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kandy.
How much does Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy cost?
+
Prices start at $10 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kandy usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kandy is not rushed.
Is Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kandy, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kandy can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kandy and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Evening Tour at the Last Kingdom of Sri Lanka, Kandy start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kandy within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kandy?
+
On Outty we rank every Kandy experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Explore Kandy City Tour by Tuk Tuk, Tours and Transportation in Sri Lanka, Chauffeur guide and Tour organizer. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kandy?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kandy?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
