About this experience

We are Thai couple growing up from different regions of Thailand and have been cooking for long time. We learned how to cook from our parents such as go to the market to pick up fresh ingredients, using spices & herbs then many tricks & basic cooking skills. When we married, we still cook and share our own food with each other all the time until now. In addition, we sometimes cook food for offering the monk as well. Our class offers you just 8 people per maximum (vegan or vegetarian are very welcome), all recipes are created from our many years of cooking experiences and some are mixed between the 2 cultures too. If you don't know what is your souvenir from Thailand, cooking could be your choice! Come to join us to make an amazing experience together! Cheers, Nok and Aek

Amazing cooking class to learn many staple Thai dishes

This was such a great experience, would absolutely recommend it to anyone spending time in Chiang Mai! No one else had booked on our session so it was just the two of us. Aek was so attentive, lovely and helpful and he explained everything to us from the ingredients we used to the recipe and local customs. We got to choose what meals we wanted to cook and they were all delicious. Everything was well organised so we went between cooking and eating (tip: don’t have any food before going you will be so full by the end). Thank you so much to the team :))

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Manon and Max for your lovely review and for cooking Thai food with us 🙏🙂

A MUST take cooking class!

This was truly my favorite excursion I did in Thailand! Chef Aek was a wonderful teacher. He gave our group of 9 multiple options for our four coarse dinner class, and then he taught us all at the same time but it was clear and concise and we all were able to follow along really easily. The food was incredible! Chef Aek is truly a great teacher. The location was very convenient for us in chiang mai, and Aek also provided pick up and drop off in a van that fit our group. Chef Aek took us to the market and showed us the ingredient to buy. He taught us a lot about Thai food and culture. He was also so kind and easy going even when some of us needed a lot of help and would mess up here and there. The location is also very homey and made the experience so authentic and memorabe. The space is very clean and well kept, but has an authenticity to it that cannot be replicated anywhere else. I could not recommend enough! Truly one of my favorite experiences. Me and my friends cannot stop raving about it

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Carolyn for spending your time cooking Thai food with us and special thanks for your lovely review 🙏🙂 Kob Kun Krab 🙏

Excellent cooking class!

We had such a great experience at Aromdii! Aek and his wife are fantastic hosts, and we learned a lot about Thai cuisine and food culture. The dishes were delicious—some of the best we’ve had on our trip so far. We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a smaller, more personalized cooking class experience in Chiang Mai!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much Rox and G for spending your evening time cooking Thai food with us! Lovely to meet you both and enjoy your holiday and congratulations to your honeymoon too😊❤️

Fantastic cooking class

Class experience. He explained everything very well. We all got to cook 5 meals of our choosing from a list (you don't all have to cook the same things, they can be different) and got to eat all the food after. It was with a small group.

Evening Thai cooking class: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.

How much does Evening Thai cooking class cost?

+

Prices start at $900 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chiang Mai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Evening Thai cooking class take?

+

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chiang Mai is not rushed.

Is Evening Thai cooking class worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Evening Thai cooking class?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Evening Thai cooking class suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 9. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Evening Thai cooking class?

+

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Evening Thai cooking class start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?

+

On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
