What you'll see and do
Join our small group (max. 4 persons), and come to live on skis the magic atmospehere of the snowy forest at night, a snowy landscape lit sometimes by the moonlight, by the stars or perhaps by the northern lights (aurora)! Sometimes (cloudy weather, new moon) it will be darker around us and we´ll only see in the fan of our headlamp, the rest will remain unknown...The snowy forest at night has his charm in every weather! The treks takes place in a remote area, 30 min. away from Rovaniemi, far from towns and marked trails; for first we´ll go through the base techniques of trekking-skis; then we´ll start to ski through snowy forests, and frozen swamps towards the kota, traditional lappish tent. The kota will be our basecamp; we´ll light a fire in it, grill a snack, and relax sitting on reindeer skins. All throughout the trek we´ll check the sky to look for stars and the northern lights. If you bring along your camera, I will help you set it to get nice pictures of the northern lights.

Great experience!! Would definitely recommend!!
If you come to Rovaniemi/Lappland I can only recommend you this tour !! It was such a great experience and so much fun. Giacomo is a very nice and kind guide. We walked through the forest at night and I felt completely safe with him. During the walk through the woods we took short breaks and he explained about the things we saw around us. The food we got was also excellent (the vegetarian as well as the traditional Finnish sausages) and sitting in the tent by the fire was also a beautiful experience. We were provided with proper boots, headlamps and the skis. We would’ve gotten overalls but we were already wearing skiing clothes. Thank you very much Giacomo.

Stunning night ski adventure
We had an absolutely stunning experience skiing through the forest at night. Even in snowy weather, we enjoyed the trip a lot. I can only imagine how incredible it could be with a clear sky or auroras. Suitable for all experience levels thanks to the good instructions from our guide Giacomo.

Absolutely great! Beautifull scenery and awesome experience.
This tour was absolutely great! A real experience we will never forget. The beautifull scenery combined with the cross countrie ski experience was amazing. The grilling on the fire in the hut was a nice touch as well. We are not outdoor people and we've never skied. But we had so much fun. My 9 year old son dropped 16 times but still tought it was great. He really had a good time. The host Giacomo was so nice. He knew a lot about the animals and showed us animal tracks. He took a few photo's for us. We completely forgot to do this, because we were in the experience. We even were lucky enough to see the northern light. We couldn't find a lot of reviews online, so that's why I chose to write this review. I hope this helps you! Just book it, you won't regret this.

Excellent evening cross country skiing
Well cared for and clear simple instructions. Those wanting a guide to take you off trail into a forest of deep snow….Giacomo gives you an authentic experience with challenge to suit needs!

Greatest experience
The trip is wonderful, all thanks to our guide Giacomo. He’s accommodating and super supportive. We only skied half-way to the cottage and went back since we’re anxious being in the forest at night. Even so, he’s happy to go back. We even go northern lights hunting afterwards since there’s still time in the tour. Even though it wasn’t as planned, the trip is amazing.

Why this scores 67
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rovaniemi.
How much does Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group cost?
+
Prices start at $89 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rovaniemi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rovaniemi is not rushed.
Is Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 67 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rovaniemi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rovaniemi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rovaniemi and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Evening Ski Trek to the Wilderness - Extra Small group start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rovaniemi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rovaniemi?
+
On Outty we rank every Rovaniemi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Northern Lights Rovaniemi: Guaranteed Viewing & Unlimited Mileage, Rovaniemi: Korouoma Canyon & Frozen Waterfalls Tour with BBQ, Rovaniemi:%100 Guaranteed Northern Lights Hunt&Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rovaniemi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rovaniemi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
