About this experience
Day trip to Essaouira, the former Mogador built on a rocky peninsula, with its ramparts in vigil on the ocean, its medina in white and blue tones, its busy port and its long sandy beaches. The history of Essaouira dates back to the 8th century BC. The Phoenicians stopped there on the road of the equator. The real founder of the city was the Alaouite sultan Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah, who entrusted the construction to Theodore Cornut, architect and student of Vauban Essaouira is now a nice little fishing port very lively at the arrival of the boats where sardines and crustaceans are sold at the auction. On the docks, fishermen repair the red nets. Enjoy the sardine grilled outdoors in the harbor's small restaurants, then discover the Sqala du Port, a crenellated bastion built to protect the harbor and the city. It consists of two fortified wings behind the Navy gate. Leaving the port Sqala, enter Moulay Hassan square.

It was wonderful as a first time visit Morocco
via Tripadvisor
Great service, great location, great trip.
The trip was very well organised, with pick up and drop off being spot on for timings. Charaf was our tour guide and he was great, gave us some good information to learn about the history of Morocco during the journey to Essaouira. All round friendly guys, welcoming and polite and made the journey worth while. Essaouira itself was beautiful, gorgeous seaside location with buzzing activity and lots to see and do. Was a fantastic break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech with a really nice cityscape. Buildings were so distinct and varied, with lots of beautiful smells and colours while travelling. Great service, great location, great trip.

Day Trip with Musti
We had such a fantastic trip and everything went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. All the arrangements were on time, well organised, and completely stress-free, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Essaouira was absolutely beautiful and definitely one of the highlights of our trip. We had plenty of time to explore the city at our own pace, enjoy some lovely food at Fishburger, wander through the souks, and take in the local area and atmosphere. It was the perfect balance of having an organised trip while still having enough freedom to explore and enjoy everything Essaouira has to offer. A special thank you to Musti, who was a brilliant host throughout the whole experience. He was friendly, helpful, reliable, and made everything so easy for us. Nothing felt rushed, and we always felt well looked after. Overall, we had an amazing time and would highly recommend booking with Musti to anyone looking for a well-organised and enjoyable trip. I would absolutely book with Musti again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to friends and family!

Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech cost?
+
Prices start at $11 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 580 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech?
+
Around 203 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Essaouira-Full-Day-Trip-From-Marrakech start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, Agafay Desert Package, Quad Bike, Camel Ride and Dinner Show. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
