    Amazing Experience!

Amazing day with our guide Ozzie! We got to see all the major sights in Ephesus including a delicious Turkish farmhouse lunch, followed by seeing how rugs are hand made and a stop at a leather shop including a fashion show and some Turkish wine.

A wonderful Ephesus tour with Curio tours

Our tour guide Fumur was a wealth of information and shared her country with us. The lunch was a great extra bonus not to be missed. Comfortable van and great driver too. What else can I say except not to be missed if you want a great tour in Ephesus

Filled with LOTS of surprises pleasant and not so pleasant

Highlights: A personalized small tour just with the two of us. I got all of my questions answered and more. Seeing and learning about the history of the vast city of Ephesus, St. John’s Basilica, Mary’s House and the tasty lunch. We paid all entrance fees. Not a highlight, just info. Midlight: The lunch was very modest but tasty: beans, beet dish, rice, tomato dish, salad, lamb meatballs and chicken, and bread. Lowlights: While I appreciate Mustafa’s honesty at the beginning of the tour letting us know he was a smoker, I would have preferred to have this information beforehand. I have a mild allergy to smoking but for someone with major allergies this could have been a huge issue since the tour was so intimate and we were in close contact for hours. The rug, ceramics and leather experiences were definitely tourist traps with pressure ranging from subtle to aggressive to buy high priced rugs and costly ceramics and expensive leather. The leather was the biggest surprise. As soon as I walked into the reception with “Payless” in bright lights on a black wall then quickly shuffled into a dark room and saw the runway lined with red velvet seating I thought “Oh no, a major tourist trap!!” After we emerged from the 10 min abbreviated leather jacket fashion show (mind you this was AFTER we explicitly told our tour guide we were NOT interested in leather jackets) we were escorted into a large show room with jackets, bags and purses. The salesman stuck to us like white on rice insisting in telling us how excellent the prices and quality were and how everything was 75% off. Honestly I would be surprise if everything had a 90% mark-up. I found it hard to trust a place called Payless. It was should have been more appropriately called “Pay More, Much More.” In retrospect, the fact that in a Turkish country everything was written in English was a huge tip off that it was a tourist trap!! Enjoy the tour but beware of the rug, ceramic and leather tourist traps. I recommend you ask “Where do the Turks buy their rugs, leather and ceramics? Pls take me there!”

    Memorable trip

Nilgun is an excellent guide. She is passionate about her country and history. We all learned a lot and even the teenagers were not bored. The Ephesus site and especially the terrace houses was so interesting. Definitely take the 155 steps thru the houses; it is not hard. We also went to see locals make hand-made rugs. The process is more than you can imagine and they offered tasty Turkish coffee and tea. We had lunch there as well and it was delicious. The driver was very good too and kept the car nice and cool in the heat.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kusadasi.

How much does EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours cost?

    +

Prices start at $29 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kusadasi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kusadasi is not rushed.

Is EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kusadasi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kusadasi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kusadasi and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does EPHESUS SHUTTLE Private with Traditional lunch incl. 4 to 8 hours start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kusadasi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kusadasi?

    +

On Outty we rank every Kusadasi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include FOR CRUISERS: Ephesus & Virgin Mary Tour with ENTRY TICKET+LUNCH, Ephesus Temple of Artemis and House of Mary Private Half Day Tour, Ephesus and Temple of Artemis Private Tour from Kusadasi Port. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kusadasi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kusadasi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
