A 5 star experience with Elly Tours

We booked a Wasini Island day trip with Elky Tours, and it was one of the best experiences of our holiday. Everything was perfectly organized, from the hotel pick-up to the return transfer. The staff were friendly, professional, and ensured we had a fantastic day from start to finish. We were lucky enough to spot dolphins in their natural habitat, which was an unforgettable experience. Watching them swim alongside the boat was truly magical. We then boarded a traditional Swahili dhow and cruised across the beautiful turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. The peaceful sailing and stunning coastal scenery made the journey even more special. The snorkeling was excellent, with crystal-clear water, colorful coral reefs, and plenty of tropical fish. The crew provided all the equipment and was always ready to help, making everyone feel safe and comfortable. After the boat trip, we enjoyed a delicious Swahili lunch with freshly prepared seafood and local dishes in a beautiful setting on Wasini Island. The food was fresh, tasty, and a perfect way to end the adventure. We also had time to explore the island and experience the local culture. A big thank you to Elky Tours for such a well-organized and memorable excursion. We highly recommend this Wasini Island tour to anyone visiting Diani Beach. If you're looking for dolphins, a traditional dhow cruise, great snorkeling, delicious food, and excellent service, this is the perfect trip!

Wasini Island

Elky arranged for us (me and my kids) a tour to Wasini Island. Besides being very competitive price-wise, everything was arranged perfectly. We have been lucky enough to swim with dolphins (lots), and the restaurant where we went after was awesome (Charlie Claw's). Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: Dear Luca Thank you very much for your kind review and for choosing Elky Tours for your Wasini Island trip. We are very happy to hear that you and your kids enjoyed the experience, especially swimming with the dolphins and the visit to Charlie Claw’s restaurant. It means a lot to us that everything was well organized and that you had a great day. Your recommendation is truly appreciated, and we hope to welcome you again for another adventure in Kenya. Kind regards, Elkana Elky Tours

Amazing

We stopped off during our World Cruise and joined a snorkeling day trip to Wasini Island with Elky, arranged through our tour agency — and it was absolutely fantastic! The traditional dhow boat was both comfortable and shaded, offering great protection from the sun. We loved learning about the coastal islands near the Kenya-Tanzania border. The crew truly stood out — enthusiastic, professional, and deeply knowledgeable. One of the guides, a former biochemistry teacher, gave us fascinating insights into the marine life and coral reefs. Their care for the marine sanctuary and attention to safety were impressive. Snorkeling was well-organized: equipment was provided, and the crew ensured each guest had a perfect fit for their mask, snorkel, and fins. Lunch was outstanding! A seafood and crab feast was served at a lovely local restaurant, with options for chicken lovers and a delicious vegetarian meal (mine included samosas, chapati, and tasty vegetable dishes). The natural beauty of the area is breathtaking, but it was the kindness and dedication of the crew that made this trip truly unforgettable. Easily one of the best experiences we’ve had on any vacation. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that you had a fantastic experience with us during your World Cruise stop at Wasini Island. It’s always our goal to provide not only beautiful sights but also meaningful insights and memorable moments, so we’re thrilled that our crew’s knowledge, care, and hospitality made your trip special. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to the team — they’ll be so happy to know their efforts made a difference. We’re also glad you enjoyed the snorkeling experience and the seafood and vegetarian lunch options. Your appreciation motivates us to keep delivering the very best for our guests. We look forward to welcoming you again someday for another adventure on Kenya’s coast. Warm regards, Elky Team

Pathetic Full Day Experience

Starting from our pick up ,driver Kasim tried selling us the stuffs unnecessarily.then at the ferry point thierr team tried selling us snorkeling equipments thougt they were supposed to proved us as the part of theor package. We were left standed on the road as there was no fuel on the car . the driver just left us in the cab without even informing us that he was going for fuel. the food experience eas completely below average for the food that was included and also for the over and above we ordered

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear that your trip did not meet your expectations and would like to sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused at various points during your tour. Your feedback regarding the driver's behavior, the snorkeling equipment confusion, and the unexpected delay due to fueling is deeply concerning. This is certainly not the standard of service we strive to provide. We have addressed this with the driver and our operations team to ensure such incidents are not repeated in the future. Regarding the food, we regret that it did not meet your expectations—both what was included and what you ordered separately. We are currently reviewing the food experience with our partners to improve both quality and service. We value your feedback and take it seriously as it helps us improve. We hope to have the opportunity to regain your trust with a much better experience in the future. Warm regards, Abdul Customer Relations

Recommend everyone to take part in other trips or private trip of this travel agency or schedule a pickup 👍

I highly recommend this travel agency, their response is quite quick, they will also respond in the evening, delivery is very timely, via Viator booking, and also receive confirmation notification sent immediately, making people quite reassured. But I do not recommend this trip itself, unless you take children, otherwise this trip is a bit uninteresting for adults, there are 35 passengers on a shared trip boat, I don't know how high the chance of seeing dolphins, but we don't see this day, it's just a constant boat trip, waves that cause a lot of dive hard and dangerous, and there are no coral and fish, boat and ticket buyers spent more than an hour waiting for lunch, lunch is also always waiting for everyone to finish eating (some of the kids in the group went to the bathroom for a long time, the European people of the group are very unhappy) Vasini Island itself has nothing to characterize, it is not beautiful and dirty on the island, the lunch included in the "Coral Wasini Adventure" environment is dirty, the meal is not good to eat, everyone remembers to go to the bathroom first, because this restaurant is really bad.

Response from the operator: 太棒了!

Elky Wasini Island Day Trip: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Diani Beach.

How much does Elky Wasini Island Day Trip cost?

+

Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Diani Beach usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Elky Wasini Island Day Trip take?

+

Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Diani Beach is not rushed.

Is Elky Wasini Island Day Trip worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Diani Beach, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Elky Wasini Island Day Trip?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Elky Wasini Island Day Trip suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Elky Wasini Island Day Trip?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Diani Beach can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Diani Beach and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Elky Wasini Island Day Trip start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Diani Beach within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Diani Beach?

+

On Outty we rank every Diani Beach experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mombasa City Tour, Full Day Dolphin Watching with Snorkeling in Wasini, Full-Day Special Wasini Island Tour with Snorkeling and Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Diani Beach?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Diani Beach?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
