About this experience
This is very similar to our Sunset Tour with the added excitement in the fall when the Elk are in their Rut. We stay in the lower portion of the National Park with amazing photo opportunities of the Elk sparing, mating and bugling. This wonderful photo tour not only gets you walking to the Alluvial Fan waterfall and a relaxing walk around Sprague Lake, but also provides great opportunities to see all types of wildlife and the stunning beauty of the lower portion of the National Park in the fall with a spectacular changing color of the fall leaves. In this photo tour you have stadium seating in one of our off-road custom vehicles with a convertible top, heating, and air conditioning to make your ride as comfortable as possible. During your tour you will be able to enjoy the included snacks and a variety of drinks. Feel free to bring alcohol for adults for a little extra relaxation. Fun for the whole family and a tour you won’t want to miss!

Fun tour
Scott was a great guide. We saw a few elk, but lots of mule deer and turkeys. Fun fact. Driving back to our cabin across from smoking Dave’s we saw probably 30 elk! Haha

Take the Badger tour with Teres, you won’t be disappointed.
Teres was our guide and was very knowledgeable about the area, founders, hiking and history of Rocky Mountain National Park. We were hoping to see elk and were not disappointed. Within 30 minutes of entering the park we saw a group of about 10 elk. As we went through the park enjoying the beautiful views Teres was sharing history of the sights. She took us to an area favored by the elk and saw at least 200 grazing and socializing.
Response from the operator: Hi! Thanks for the review. We are happy to have Therese and that you enjoyed your adventure with her. 200 Elk is a treat to see! Hope to see you again.

Great adventure.
Great trip. The guide did a fantastic job, and we observed a lot of Elk and saw some fantastic scenery. Comfortable vehicles and just enough time to see a lot of the park.

Perfect!
Terese was the best guide, pleasant and knowledgeable. Tour provided everything we needed. Jeep was great and we saw a black bear and many elk. Terese was patient and guided our tour the way we wanted. Perfect!

Why this scores 71
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Estes Park.
How much does Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours) cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Estes Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours) take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Estes Park is not rushed.
Is Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 71 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Estes Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours) suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours)?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Estes Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Estes Park and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Elk Watching Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Estes Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Estes Park?
+
Estes Park is the eastern gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park: guided Trail Ridge Road tours, wildlife and elk safaris, rafting, horseback rides and Stanley Hotel ghost tours. On Outty we rank every Estes Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Top of the World Tour (Wildside 4x4 Tours), Retractable Glass Top Tours of RMNP by Purple Points Tour Company, The Rocky Mountain National Park Safari Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Estes Park?
+
June to September for full park access, September for the elk rut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Estes Park?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
