Like Chichen Itza, but you can climb the pyramid!

Overall it was an excellent tour. Every detail was thought of. Before the tour even started, we had great communication from the tour. Arranging pick up was a breeze. The tour was very well planned and paced. Alex is knowledgeable, attentive, and full of fun history facts. His years of experience were clearly evident in how well thought out the tour was. Ek balam is similar to Chichen Itza, but at this site, you can climb the pyramid! It was at the top of my must see attractions when I learned that climbing the pyramid was an option. The Cenote was beautiful. The cool water was especially refreshing after the morning walk through the ruins. The restaurant was an excellent choice. The food was great, and the service was quick. I highly recommend this tour, Alex is definitely the best guide you will find.

Amazing

The excursion with Alexander was incredible. We visited a lot of interesting places on an individual tour. The route was built as comfortably as possible. Alexander is very attentive to details and can tell a lot about Mexico and locals. If you are looking for a professional guide and a good companion, this is exactly the person you need.

The perfect guide

Alexander was the perfect guide for us, and before him we saw many guides, visited many countries and excursions. And to avoid being unsubstantiated, which for me/us is the perfect guide: 1. Alexander is highly competent (knows all about sights, country, history, language, answers any questions) and loves his business - this is very visible. 2.His excursion itinerary is perfectly designed so that visiting many different places even in the heat, not tired, everything on time, including lunch, and at the same time he takes no time and does not fit anywhere, enough time and enjoy the views and capture them and chat and purchase a souvenir if you need. 3. The transport is new, comfortable, all for comfort and while moving from one attraction to another, which is also very important: comfortable seats, air conditioning, water and even tequila on board, a screen with a movie on the subject, and probably most importantly - a good neat driver. 4. And the last but not least: Alexander is a man who is well-placed and very pleasant, attentive, reacted instantly to my message (unlike others I wrote to), adjusted to our wishes, we found a compromise. In the end, although it was not the cheapest trip for us, we were 100 per cent satisfied and never regretted taking the tour, first one and then the second, which we were also delighted with. Again, we often travel and excursions are always considered a must part of trips, especially to new places. There was an excursion and in some ways or at all did not meet expectations, even regretting the money and time spent. But here I can't even name a single downside, I can state that both tours exceeded my expectations! Anyone who wants a good, comfortable tour with an attentive and competent guide, where you will learn a lot, get a bunch of interesting experiences and cool photos, and don't even tire in the process - from the heart we advise Alexander! Don't look long, especially since everyone's prices are about the same. Good morning, everyone!

Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour cost?

+

Prices start at $3500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour take?

+

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 48 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ek Balam and Cenote Express Tour start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

+

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
