Very nice tour - as always:)
I am writing this because Lino has forced me to write down everything bad. Well: except that we almost drowned in a hole full of muddy water, everything was ok. No bullshit! We went offroad ("Maderian Massage") through beautiful forests, eucalyptus scent was in the air. Stunning scenery, very good food in Santana and evening adventure (the one with the hole was not a lie, just a bit exaggerated;) ) The only "shortcoming" (not for me, but I think that some might not like): that was the 4th. Tour that I booked in German and I never got German. But those who are semi-proficient in English can cope very well. Therefore clear recommendation!

Amazing 2 trips with Luis
Our experience with Green Devil Safari was fantastic right from the start. When I first reached out to Fernando, the owner, he was super quick to help, which was great since I was traveling with my 85-year-old dad, my husband, and our teenage daughter and had special requirements . We kicked things off with the Northwest Terrace tour, and the real highlight was our guide, Luis. He made everything extra special, especially when he took us off-road at my daughter’s request. As a vegetarian, I really appreciated the jungle-themed restaurant he took us to, with amazing pasta and freshly squeezed orange juice. Luise was always checking in on us, to ensure we’re having a good time. Besides showing us scenic spots, Luise was also helping us snap great photos. He treated us like family, especially my dad, and his driving was smooth and safe, while navigating tricky spots to get us the best views. We were so happy that we decided to take another trip with Luis to Madeira Peaks. Even though they were fully booked because of a cruise ship in town, Fernando somehow arranged another incredible day with Luise. Once again, Luis took us from stunning ocean views to mountain peaks, and he even brought us to a fantastic restaurant with a great ocean view for our lunch . Luis stay back in the jeep as my dad wanted to take afternoon nap , while we were enjoying a lovey lunch . This little gestures of Luis that made our trip so special. For a grand finale, he took us on an off-road adventure through a misty pine forest on the way to Pico de Arieira—it felt like a scene from a movie. Luis really went the extra mile to make our trip unforgettable. If you’re planning just one tour on Madeira, definitely go with Green Devil Safari and ask for Luis. Monicca from Canada

Perfect introduction to the East side of Madeira
Nelson was a fantastic guide - full of relevant and interesting information about everything around us. It was a perfect way to see the highlights of the East side of the island and get a real sense of Madeira.

Why this scores 58
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
East private full day: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Funchal.
How much does East private full day cost?
+
Prices start at $497 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Funchal usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does East private full day take?
+
Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Funchal is not rushed.
Is East private full day worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Funchal, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule East private full day?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is East private full day suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book East private full day?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Funchal can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Funchal and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does East private full day start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Funchal within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Funchal?
+
On Outty we rank every Funchal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Jeep Tour Amazing West to Natural Pools -Full-Day, Porto Moniz, Seixal, Fanal Forest, Cliff Skywalk in Open Roof 4X4, West Tour-Fanal Forest & Porto Moniz Natural Pools Small Groups. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Funchal?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Funchal?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
