On your way home, stop at the Pali Lookout. You’ll see the spot where King Kamehameha fought to seize the island of O'ahu to form one united Hawai'i. If you’re looking to hike one more time before your drive home for the day, head to the Judd Trail. This one-mile path runs parallel to the Old Pali Road, a small stretch of the original roadway that connected Honolulu to O'ahu’s east side. You’ll walk through lush jungle passing streams and a small waterfall along the way. Once you reach the end of the trail you’ll come across a swimming hole — feel free to jump in! This hike is family-friendly, but you’ll have to cross a stream to get to the waterfall, and it can get muddy and slippery if it’s been raining.
Pass by without stopping
After you’ve finished hiking we’ll guide you back to Waikiki with stories and music along the drive. Once you get back to the city, head to Waikiki Beach to watch the sunset. It’s the perfect way to end the day! When you’re in Hawai'i, we ask that you act respectfully toward the locals, land, and wildlife. Please pick up your trash; never touch any marine life, plants, or other animals; and avoid spots that are unsafe. Hawaii’s natural resources are precious. It’s up to all of us to help preserve these resources. If you want to do everything on the tour — hike every trail visit every beach explore Ho’omaluhia snorkel at Hanauma Bay, and stop at every point — you should expect to spend about 10-12 hours. You’ll also want to depart Waikiki around 6 a.m. to cover everything before Ho’omaluhia closes at 4:00 p.m. It will be a long day, but you’ll get an in-depth look at Oahu’s Eastern Shore!

Nope. Do not recommend
Very pedantic. Irritating voice and treated like we are in 6th grade. Couldn’t ‘t get it to sync map with car’s navigation system and no response on help chat. Gave up after first few miles. Do not recommend.
Response from the operator: Aloha Susan! We're truly bummed to hear that your experience with our guide didn't quite hit the mark and felt a bit too much like a lecture. Our goal is always to share the knowledge in a way that feels friendly and engaging, and it sounds like we missed that for you. We truly apologize for the oversight and the lack of support. That's definitely not the smooth, helpful journey we want for anyone. Because this tour was purchased through Viator, you can request help or a refund directly through your Viator ticket. If you’d like assistance understanding how the tour works or want us to take a closer look at what went wrong, you’re also welcome to email us at aloha@shakaguide.com and we’ll do our best to help. This audio tour is worth it! 5 stars
This self guided audio tour was fantastic. Do not hesitate. Buy this and do it. Our favorite part was the stories the narrator told along the way

Beach experience was amazing every place we went in Oahu.
We stayed a few blocks away from Waikiki Beach. It was a fantastic trip. Visit a Notanical garden with a 3 mile s hike to falls to swim as base of falls grandchildren had a blast. Then we staed for thier dinner luau and show. Great experience for all. We visit the lagoon in front of Hilton Hawii Village. Perfect cam sanding place for grandchildren to practice thier snorkeling and see fish. They could rent paddle boats and stand up boards and more. Places to eat close by was very affordable I did not expect food to ber reasonable there. The Inernational Market Place had a low of good places to eat there and surrounging area. We stayed 14 days nad wish we could have stayed antoher 14.
Response from the operator: We're glad to hear that you find our app useful and easy to use. Our team is constantly working to improve the app, and we appreciate your support.

Great info
We had some operator errors 🤣 and had some grief getting it to play on our rental car, but what we did manage was great.

Great tour!!
This was an EXCELLENT audio tour. The narration was entertaining and informative and the directions were spot on. One word of caution, be sure to find out the hours of any place you want to visit, as some close earlier than would be expected (ie: you can’t drive to the summit of Diamond Head after 4 pm). Otherwise, this was the best of both worlds because you could enjoy the island at your own pace, but had the knowledge of an experienced guide at the same time.
Response from the operator: Mahalo for your review! Don't forget to tell all your friends about it and follow us on social media @shakaguide to share your Shaka Guide experience 🤙😍🤙

Why this scores 59
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Oahu.
How much does East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $20 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Oahu usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Oahu is not rushed.
Is East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 59 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Oahu, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Oahu can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Oahu and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does East Oahu Shoreline Self Guided Audio Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Oahu within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Oahu?
+
On Outty we rank every Oahu experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Oahu: Full or Half Day Grand Circle Island Tour, Oahu Small-Group Circle Island Tour with Turtle Snorkeling, Pearl Harbor Remembered Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Oahu?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Oahu?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
