    Must experience!

This was so much fun, exciting, and educational. It was a bit scary at times. The hills in San Francisco are no joke lol. I got off track a few time but that added to the adventure. I did the 3 hour tour and it went very quickly.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We're so glad you had such a fun, exciting, and educational adventure exploring San Francisco! And yes—those San Francisco hills definitely add an extra bit of excitement! 😄 We're happy you enjoyed the 3-hour tour, even when getting a little off track became part of the adventure. If you visit us again and want even more time to explore, we recommend our **All Day Tour**, giving you more freedom to stop, wander, and enjoy the sights at your own pace. We hope to see you again for another GoCar adventure! 🚗🌉😊

    Use suncream

A great tour! You get to see a lot while driving a fun little vehicle yourself. It's a unique and enjoyable way to explore the area. Two suggestions for improvement: - Install more suncream in all areas that are not covered on your body, as you can catch a lot of sun during the ride. - 3 hours is short; Allow a bit more time at the stops so participants have enough time to get out, walk around, and enjoy the sights.

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! We're so glad you enjoyed exploring San Francisco in one of our GoCars and found it to be a unique and fun way to see the city. We also appreciate your helpful suggestions. You're absolutely right—on sunny days, sunscreen is a must, especially for your hands and arms while driving. We also understand your comments about the tour length. For guests who like to spend more time at each stop, we recommend our All Day Tour or one of our electric E-Sport tours, which offer even more flexibility to explore at your own pace while crossing the Golden Gate Bridge. Thank you again for your feedback and recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! 🚗🌉☀️

    10/10 must do!

My partner and I rented the Go Car Classic for the early bird special of 3 hours in SF. It was such a blast and what a fun and exciting way to explore the city!! It was my partner's first time in SF so this was perfect to get a lay of the land and a general idea of what the northern part of the city has to offer. The audio tour was interesting and the GPS navigation started off great but we ended up getting a little lost towards the end. It was our fault for getting distracted, but we got back on track with plenty of time to complete the tour. My favorite part was the crooked Lombard Street! Best type of vehicle to go down that insane road!! Just watch out for the pedestrians, it's crazy how they can pay no attention and stand in the middle street.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We're delighted to hear you had such a great experience exploring San Francisco and that you enjoyed the GPS-guided tour, the interesting commentary, and the friendliness of our team. We also appreciate your understanding during the busy check-in process. If you visit us again, we'd love for you to try one of our electric vehicles, such as the E-Sport, and experience our popular Over the Golden Gate Bridge Tour. It's a fun and comfortable way to explore even more breathtaking views while enjoying a different driving experience. Thank you again for your recommendation. We look forward to welcoming you back for another GoCar adventure! 🚗🌉⚡

Booked on a whim. It was fun to see the sights from a different place and level. Weather was great as well.

It was fun to see at a different level and view. GPS was helpful. Only complaint is made turn directions a little late at times, but all worked out in the end.

Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We’re so glad that booking with us on a whim turned into such a fun way to see San Francisco from a completely different perspective. It’s wonderful to hear that the GPS helped you along the way and that you were able to enjoy the great weather while exploring the City. We also appreciate your feedback about the turn directions coming a little late at times. We’re glad everything worked out in the end and hope you still had a fantastic time on your adventure! We’d love to welcome you back for another unforgettable experience—perhaps our popular Over the Bridge Tour or our All Day Special, giving you even more time to explore San Francisco at your own pace.

Fun way to see San Francisco

What a fun way to see the city! The route was easy to follow and hit many beautiful and interesting areas. The car was easy and fun to drive, although a bit of a tight fit for 2 adults. The audio guide was good, however the map on the screen was almost impossible for the driver to see. The staff was helpful and the check-in/check out process simple. We really recommend this for anyone looking for a fun way to explore SF. We are locals from the East Bay and really enjoyed seeing the City in this way for our anniversary outing.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for celebrating your anniversary with us and for sharing such a wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you and your partner enjoyed discovering San Francisco from a different perspective and found the route easy to follow, fun, and full of beautiful and interesting sights. We also appreciate your helpful feedback regarding the screen visibility for the driver. We’re glad to hear our team made the check-in and check-out process simple and that you had a great time behind the wheel. On your next visit, we invite you to come try one of our newer vehicles, such as the ZeroMax or E-Sport, or take the wheel of our popular and sporty Slingshot for a whole new San Francisco adventure!

Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for San Francisco.

How much does Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $169 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in San Francisco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in San Francisco is not rushed.

Is Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 61 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in San Francisco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour?

    +

Around 21 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in San Francisco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in San Francisco and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Early Bird San Francisco GoCar Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central San Francisco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in San Francisco?

    +

San Francisco packs Alcatraz, Muir Woods, Napa and the bay into day-trip range, which makes booking order matter more than anywhere else in the US. Alcatraz sells out weeks ahead, wine-country vans fill on weekends, and the best food walks in the Mission and Chinatown cap at a dozen people. Our ranking favours small groups and guides who live in the neighbourhood they walk. On Outty we rank every San Francisco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Small Group Yosemite and Giant Sequoias Day Trip from San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge Muir Woods Sausalito with Optional Alcatraz, Chinatown, North Beach, Little Italy: 7 Tastings & History. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit San Francisco?

    +

September and October, the city's real summer, once the fog season breaks. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in San Francisco?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
