Visit Eagle’s Nest(Kehlsteinhaus),a mountaintop lodge built by the Nazis as a gift for Hitler. Perched dramatically at 6,148 feet(1,834 meters)on Mt. Kehlstein, this historic site offers some of the most breathtaking views of the Alps in all of Germany. Ironically, Hitler rarely visited the lodge, as he suffered from vertigo and was uncomfortable with heights. Eagle’s Nest is only open from May through the end of October, depending on weather conditions.

Deception at it’s best
It was really informative. Great guide and driver…. But when underway we were informed it would cost another 75 euros to actually go to Eagles Nest. When you book the trip that is NOT clear and very deceptive. I would NOT recommend this trip due to that. Very disappointed in that. Put a damper on the trip for all of us.

Felicia did a fantastic job explaining the salient facts about the history of the place and key figures before, during and after WWII. She showed us the foundations of the Berghof (all that remains).

A Must while in the area
My husband, 20 year old daughter and I extremely loved this excursion. The bus pick up location was very easy to find. The bus was very comfortable and had good working AC. The views from the bus were breathtaking and our amazing tour guide Bea provided excellent history. We loved how she used a microphone so we could all hear her clearly and she also came around to answer more individual questions. The Eagles Nest itself was awe inspiring. It was a rainy day, but that did not deter the beauty of the Bavarian alps and the history of the location. Our lunch at the bottom of the nest was yummy and the walk through the bunkers is eye opening. We wish we had more time to go through the documentation center, but at least we are pretty proficient of the history due to documentaries we have watched over the years. The trip back to Munich was quiet and restful and most had a restful nap. We highly recommend this tour, it is really a must see while in the area.

Eagle’s Nest
Great trip to the Eagle’s Nest and surrounding area. Pick up location was very easy to find. Felicia was an awesome guide and provided a lot of history and background on our way to and at the Eagle’s Nest. Felt there was plenty of time to see everything and explore. They organized the payment for the bus to go up and the Documentation Center well. The views were beautiful. The history is obviously somber, but a part of history everyone needs to remember as not to repeat.

Very interesting and smooth excursion
The trip and schedule were well planned, there was enough time for free roaming. Our guide Bea was amazing and very knowledgeable, she also gave us good practical tips.
